My rough draft of my research paper on GamerGate is due in 45 minutes. I can't thank you guys enough for the help on getting me started. There is no way in hell I'm able to finish the paper within the next 45, but I'll submit what I'll get done. I like the direction this paper is going, and while I may not share it with you guys, I will still come to you guys if I get stumped on something.

WE refers to the users on Know Your Meme. And this is an ARCHIVAL site. This section in particular taking of events and articles related to Gamergate. Mentions, related figures of the hashtag, attacks involved and tactics end up getting discussed here. (So if you want to go on a tangent, Scott Adams, Successful Cartoonist and "whiner" does end up getting related into Gamergate by a few proxies.)

BUT since were here on KYM, which is unbound from The amendments since it's a website owned by a cooperation and not the US government, using that particular colorful flourish to describe Mr. Adams is in violation of rule #6 which you can read at any time: " Be Friendly We want our forums to be welcoming place for both old and new users. Please keep your comments and posts constructive and considerate in tone. If you observe a user breaking a rule, try advising the user in the right direction instead of posting insults or harsh criticisms. If the user persists, contact a forum moderator."

Consider this an advice on correcting that tone, because breaking that rule, which I have archived by quoting you, has left me with that instruction to behave accordingly.

Second: I see you know what Gamergate SHOULD do. But you're still one person trying to commandeer a bunch of archivists that are more interested in looking after the event as it goes, that believe applying facts to remove slander and shatter narratives, and actively call things as they are rather than what someone asks to "listen and believe." (It's becoming frightfully clear you jumped back into this thread on an account that blogged here 10 months ago and resumed activity, with no other contributions in that blank span. So that's… interesting for lack of a better word.) Plus what would you do if you convinced those going to this thread? No offense meant to those that vote on what I have to say, but maybe an approximation of 7 people? That's your victory? Convincing the people that read this thread that your idea of a communist takeover of the American system is a swell idea? There's more people talking about this in the un-official Gamergate reddit! AND to further top off the flaw in your revolutionary idea, those that comment here are from all over the globe, not just America.

In short. Cut it with the historical platitudes. Communism has proven not to work and what you're trying to do, convince Gamergate to uprise against Captialism, won't work here because the users in this thread are global, not American, and are more concerned with how the event Gamergate is being archived than how Gamergate should act.

Also, to those that read this far and know I'm not talking to them but about them: Trust, but Verify.
(Seriously, look into the account, dude just stopped blogging here a while back, posted in two other threads, and then came in 9-10 months later with this "Big picture" bit.)

Lack of proof shouldn't count as proof, for all we know Nyberg could have assumed a new alias. Until there's been a criminal charge or confirmation, I'm going to trust. However, personally, I will need more solid evidence for verification, instead of speculation, to be convinced. (Example: Recent Chatroom leaks dating to events concerning Nyberg around September 2016 or some record of Nicholas/Sarah Nyberg getting arrested.)

Yep, He made a youtube video going into depth about it today. I mean say "Harmful opinions is god" X times and it must be true! (I just didn't want to quad post when I found out. Thanks for Combo Breaking me.)

But there's a more worrying tone here, an anonymous app (that really isn't) to create a Censor happy AI that can be used to curb discussion is all sorts of questionable and very Orwellian. It's a risk to all maybe controversial topics including #Gamergate. Most of Youtubers that decided to advertise and get caught in the contract were on both ends of the spectrum of "how people should behave." We, the ones archiving this event, should have a good grip on the difference between interpretation and the truth.

It raises the question of what good is a moral AI that can't fact check to keep things truthful? (Rethorical) For absurd example, if "2 + 2 = Fish" is a correct topic because it's sensitive that all answers can be wrong but "2 + 2 = 4" is viewed as too harsh of a reality, then the wrong solution doesn't help in any practical application, especially if facts are key.

(I kinda lost where I'm going but what I'm trying to get at is, I believe conversation cannot be censored for the sake of feelings vs reality. Mostly because reality does not care and will not continue to do so as its a constant. To ignore reality for the sake of a safe space is practically insane. [ Hypocrisy alarm: Garde has a gleeful use of rule #6] And sometimes Illegal. )

Keep in mind these are extremes of formulas and practical truths that hold true is most dimensions (Quantum's weird.)

Gaming news: Nintendo NX announced as Nintendo Switch powered by Nvidia Tegra, So there'll probably be a homebrew hack for it sometime in the future (or possibly Shield features like the subscribe library.) Given the design (a dock-able tablet with wireless/connectable controllers) this thing had better be made out of good old nintendium, otherwise its mobile feature could be a very expensive mistake. (Hopefully not like the Samsung "hot pocket" Note7) That said, there might be some interesting press about this particular device.

I'll go with the specific first. Gawker was put up for auction and bought by Univision, which was then rebranded as Gizmodo. The writers acquired in the transfer were moved around from sub division to sub division of the company, and threatened to leave the parent company if their previous content was taken down. (un)Surprisingly, no ones been fired yet, though some have left to publish at other places of cronyism.

Also Gawker is trying to counter sue from beyond the grave to try and come back from the dead.

The big event for Gamergate after Gawker is the chatleaks of Crash Override Network, proof of collusion from December 2014 of 20 major Anti GG players working together to sabatoge and dox GG'ers. This was before CON was founded but after it was registered. It's a smoking gun of evidence, however all Major media does not want to publish this reveal for some strange reason.

Also,Gamergate is still going after corrupt journos and developers, from Treehouse's lazy and forced translations to No Man's Sky being incredibly lackluster. There's probably more, but I'll need more specifics to pinpoint on what information you'd like.

Gawker and Hogan have agreed to a 31 million dollar settlement of the lawsuit. They also settled two other lawsuits and agreed to delete the articles that triggered the lawsuits.

Given the likelihood that an appeal would have substantially reduced the judgement anyway, 31 million and Gawker's bankruptcy is a pretty good deal.
