The laterOn average a anime episode costs about $300,000 to make. The worst case scenario with this is that anime studios will be even further pressured to use cgi, cgi can be good if it's a good studio but a lot of times like you said certain companies flood series.
The kind of mixed thing about this is that we might see a lot of anime movies and shorter seasons rather than full blown tv shows. A 24 episode anime show on average costs at least $7 million to make; a 12 episode anime costs on average costs $3.6 million on average; one of those short more of ona or ova shows that are six episodes costs only on average $1.8 million; a movie would cost about $1.2 million.
I have been on the anime scene to see this as a matter of little concern. Even before crowdfunding that was common, with studios being so desperate they felt no shame of creating some total trainwrecks which are barely remembered nowadays.
We will need to sift through a lot more garbage nowadays than before, but as long as nothing is forbidden, we will be able to find what we love.
I am more concerned about busybodies trying to censor content and people trying to control the content of already existing brands rather than people making new, but low quality stuff.
