About
Tally Hall Trollface Edits refers to a number of videos set to music by American rock band Tally Hall (and offshoots such as Miracle Musical, Rob Cantor, and Joe Hawley) consisting of Trollface, other elements of Rage Comics and occasionally wojaks. Often, the videos will have a surreal or satirical bend. Trollface specifically is typically both the main focus of the video and is depicted as a violent psychopath.
Origin
On January 23rd, 2021, Redditor vinland posted a Trollface version of Ruler of Everything to the /r/okbuddyretard subreddit,[1] gaining over 16,700 upvotes in two weeks, and was reuploaded to their secondary YouTube channel "source2" on the same day (shown below), where it received over 346,000 views in nearly two years. On February 4th, 2021, YouTube user Chase Hukill posted a full-length version of the music video using vinland's original video, a music video of another portion of the song which was made by YouTube user McJimbles,[2] and his own original work to fill in the remaining parts. The video received over 2.6 million views over one year.
Spread
On February 24th, 2021, YouTube user McJimbles posted a Trollface music video that uses the Tally Hall song "&." The video (shown below) received over 1.6 million views in over one year.
On March 6th, 2021, a Trollface music video was posted to YouTube by Xtra, which used the Miracle Musical song "Variations on a Cloud." The video (shown below, left) received over 225,000 views in over one year. On March 13th, 2021, a Trollface music video was posted to YouTube by Frog Man, which uses the Miracle Musical song "The Mind Electric." The video (shown below, right) received over 167,000 views in over one year.
Two different Trollface music videos of the Tally Hall song "Turn The Lights Off" were made. The first one was posted to YouTube by CarloCoughed on March 14th, 2021, and received over 259,000 views in over one year (shown below, left). The second one was posted to YouTube by McJimbles on April 14th, 2021, receiving over 971,000 views in over one year (shown below).
