I'll try to keep it brief: 433 KB JPG >move into new flat that already had 3 smoke detectors >they all look very old, neither having an accessable battery chamber nor a f------ single button to turn them on or off (and there are no wires, so it's not a preinstalled thing) >they do pretty much nothing when you smoke in the same room, however when you pick them up or touch them, they might randomly start the alarm >mean it when I say there is no button or literally anything on it to even operate it once it goes off, it's just a big piece of plastic with a random beeping alarm >the beeping however is the loudest fastest alarm I have ever heard from one of these f------ and with nothing to turn them off you're kinda f----- >put all smoke detectors in the same room in a place, where I hope they won't be triggered >start living in fear of these f------ things >ffw to yesterday >starts beeping once every 30 seconds >google says it's near the end of its lifespan, so you need to exchange batteries (which you can't with this thing unless you have a f------ tiny screwdriver, which i dont) otherwise this might continue for 30 days and might trigger an alarm at any second >try to not go insane and fill bathtub, throw f------ smok detector in there >the light that flashes on whenever it beeps is now constantly on despite it being underwater >it has been like this for an hour I want to die. I'm too scared it will just start the alarm as soon as I get it out of the water and maybe it won't stop at all now. And it's not like I could press a button and take out the batteries or smth. Shouldn't water f------ destroy everything about this thing? Has anyone even heard of wireless buttonless smoke detectors? Am I going crazy? tl;dr old ass smoke detector is literally too broken to break
