Hello everybody once again, I was wanting to get some insight, specifically with devs, big name or indie, coming out and saying they're Pro-GG (Can't find the pic, otherwise I'd post it here). I was wondering if there was any big name or indie devs that you might know of that might come out and say they're pro-GG, might swap sides as dev silence has been broken, etc.

First Techraptor Interview here.
Second Techraptor Interview here.
And Mark Kern has said that high level devs have told him they are grateful to GamerGate for protecting their freedom.
All in all it looks like devs are heavily pro-GamerGate, they're just scared of coming out.
But of course, fear never lasts. And with every dev standing up and saying "I support ethics & freedom" the backlash gets less severe and the number of devs willing to stand up grows.
That will continue accelerating until it hits critical mass and suddenly a giant chuck of the industry starts flying the Green & Purple flag seemingly overnight.
The hilarious things is their articles about Gamer Gate:
1. Give publicity to Gamer Gate.
2. Are so absurd that make themselves look bad.
3. They censor comments, so they look bad by using censorship.
4. Build a reaction from Gamer Gate to debunk them, this ends giving more publicity to Gamer Gate.

Thing is that when it was a print magazine, Cracked used to be comparable to MAD. It should have died after it ceased it's publication, but for some reason it became a haven for SJWs.
We can only hope it dies off permanently.

I used to be an avid reader of Cracked.com. Trust me, its turn to shit was fairly recent.
Yeah, I wasn't bad for a while when it was online, but slowly went from factoids and comedy to social opinion soapbox. I hoped for a while they would turn back but I gave up.

I used to read it too, but just like BuzzFeed, political correctness took over, and those who didn't want to quit reading it, just had to accept it.
I don't believe this needs any explanation. Just watch:
I've grown more weary of "Perfect 10s". It's like the more hype a game has, the more skeptical I become of a game's "quality" (couldn't find the right word).
Even those perfect 10s are sure to have flaws, and the game journalists are too enamored with the brand.

What I wonder is why I just found out Iron Liz is a gater. Basically, although this "cause" is at best an amalgam of gibberish, and more aptly groping in the dark to justify your entrance into the vendetta between a man from Worcester and a woman from Boston, I'm wondering how the heck I just found out about someone who so perfectly fits your counternarrative so late.

We also picked up LordKaT back in last August.
You know there is one answer to how all this evidence keeps piling up on our side, why our claims keep proving true, and why when we make predictions they happen.
Why our "counternarrative" keeps getting more & more convincing, why our childish delusions keep leading to IRL change, why we just keep growingโฆ
It's because we're right, because instead of narrative we have truth, and because when we keep saying "fuck doing what's easy" and instead take the hard road to a better world we start to inspire people.
It's easy to understand GamerGate if you just hold back on trying to figure out our "real goals" or debunking our "lies" or justifying your dislike as a response to our "hate" and instead just assume we're being completely upfront & honest here.
We say that we care about ethical journalism because we care about ethical journalism.
We say that we oppose censorship because we oppose censorship.
We say that SJWs are insane hateful crooks because SJWs are insane hateful crooks.
Now do that and see if we make more sense.
Sometimes the blindingly obvious answer is the correct answer, after all.
Because this isn't directly related to GamerGate, I felt it'd be amusing to share this funny Kotaku related story here rather than the comment section.
Playboy, who has been doing gaming content on their YouTube channel recently, uploaded a video of some of the Playmates playing through some user created levels in Super Mario Maker (yep Nintendo sent them a press copy, remember Nintendo partnered with Playboy to promote Bayonetta 2, sticking with them to help promote more stuff is probably Nintendo's way to help appeal more to the adult gamer crowd), one of which is a level that's an "auto play" level in which you do not touch the controller while playing simply called "Don't Touch That Controller!"
Not too long after Playboy's video went up, Kotaku put up a video of some of them playing through the same user created level. Due to the level's nature as one where you don't touch the controller, YouTube's auto ID system assumed the content was "stolen" from Playboy's channel, so Kotaku has a copyright claim from Playboy magazine. Oh sure it's an ID that was the result of YouTube's bots not knowing the whole point of this game level is everyone will have the same experience, but does anyone else find it to be a very strangely karmic situation that Kotaku got ID'd by Playboy of all things? (over an E rated Nintendo game no less?)
I will admit, I laughed.
playboy has more journalistic integrity in its centerfold than kotaku has in its whole website

You know, I can't help but wonder what the outcome of GG will be. It's certainly not gonna be all sunshine and rainbows- there are no shortage of assholes after all- But how much will actually be fixed? I really want change to happen, don't get me wrong, but im starting to question how much can actually change.

The MSM is going to take a massive credibility hit, combined with lawsuits and every other problem they're facing (out of touch with the average person, clickbait failing, an approval rating lower then congress in America) a lot of them won't make it and the survivors are going to be spending decades working off the distrust.
Plus we got ethical alternatives for a bunch of news and the SPJ working with us to improve it.
SJWs are getting increasingly large backlash worldwide, that's only going to continue growing.
The sooner left-wing parties realize pandering to SOCJUS = electoral poison (hello Ed Miliband) the faster SJWs get tossed under the bus.
All entertainment industries are turning against them, Silicon Valley is headed for a crash and the more a company is infested with SJWs the harder they will be hit (in lean times supporting a bunch of parasites is fatal).
The only place where SJWs aren't in massive trouble is the media, and the media is currently dying.
Right now we're making massive gains, why do you think the media is going all out on a propaganda blitz?
The last time it was anywhere near this level was in January, and I'd say it's getting back to October level.
If they weren't scared they wouldn't be trying to smother the flames with smears (pity they never figured out that in that metaphor smears = gasoline).
What happened with the SPJ scared them badly, now they're going all-out and throwing any caution to the wind in an attempt to destroy us and it's not working.
They're starting to realize that there is no way out for them and it's making them crazy.
In the past year they learned pretty much nothing, and that's why they are falling.
Hey, guys. Yesterday, I was talking to a friend about GG, and we had a long, thoughtful discussion. An old issue I had nagging in the back of my head resurfaced with a little more clarity.
Can GG sustain developers? Can they be an effective alternative, if not replacement, of current mainstream game journalism?
We're both game developers, albeit rather fresh and inexperienced ones. And as young, starry-eyed devs, we (or at least, I) would love to make our own games on our own terms. You know, do what we think is cool/innovative/inspiring rather than safe rehashes of existing franchises.
But we also know the risks of doing such a thing. We're competing in a highly saturated market, with what would very well be an obscure, niche title. To make ends meet, you'll need visibility, at the very least, a way for your game to be properly exposed to the general public, or just a large group of people who would enjoy the game.
So I can understand from a certain point of view why collusion in the industry is a thing. Not that we condone it, of course. My friend and I agree on our pride as a dev that we wouldn't do this sort of thing. If we did, it wouldn't be out of greed, and that we would ask for full disclosure on the relationships involved and ask for an honest review based on merit. But if you're a starving developer down on his luck, and you need this next title to sellโฆ favourable and 'objective' reviews by friends in high places might just do the trick. Honesty sacrificed for the sake of survival.
Right now, GG is metaphorically cleansing game journalism with fire, with varied results. Some have been scared straight and have repented. Some are still defiantly fighting back, and may or may not be on the brink of extinction. But what doesn't change is the fact that they are the mainstream media, in a sense, and can affect the points of view of the general, uneducated public. If they say X puts raisins in their chocolate chip cookies, you can bet your ass a lot of potential customers will believe that and won't buy from X again.
Many devs are trying to broaden their demographic outside the standard hardcore gamers, and rely on the mainstream media to reach out to their target audience. Going against the mainstream media is akin to shooting off a big chunk off your foot. You may still be able to walk, but it would be incredibly difficult.
A lot of people in GG are people who identify as gamers. I'd like to know how many of these self identified gamers are casual gamers who solely play things like Candy Crush and Farmville. I don't have the numbers, but I assume not a lot. For most gamers of their calibre, they probably do not care about this GG fiasco from the point of view of a gamer. They only care if a game is fun, not who made it or how, and they primarily rely on ads and mainstream media to find these games.
Which FINALLY brings me to my point. If devs want to openly support GamerGate, and still be able to make a living, there has to be an effective alternative to current games journalism. The alternative not only has to be recognised as an authority by the general public, but it also has to be able to impact sales with its opinion. But to prove that this new alternative is effective, it needs to go toe to toe with mainstream media and sway the opinion, or mainstream media must be sufficiently gone for it to fill the gap.
Just imagine, if AlternativeGameThing gives X a 10/10, but Kotaku/Polygon/Whathaveyou gave it a 1/10โฆ If the game sells like hot cakes despite what the mainstream media says, more devs would gravitate to AGT, and mainstream loses their influence. And, of course, we need to make sure AGT isn't corruptible so the devs can't just buy their score. Maybe games are judged by multiple reviews from users.
These sort of thing probably exists somewhere (like Steam), but their influence might not reach far enough, or be effective enough. And I know GG has supported games and devs in the past, but a long term strategy would be far more effective in reforming whatever is going on now.
What do you guys think? Are there flaws in my argument? Is something like this already in motion? Is there a more effective alternative?
Edit: The alternative shouldn't be connected to GamerGate. It should be a neutral thing that is by the gamers, for the gamers. No politics.
TL;DR: Create a source for game news and information that is more influential that current mainstream media, or make a worthy candidate rise to power. Needs a strong hold on public opinion.
^ Gamer Gate does not need to support game developers, gamers will, the same people who always did
all GG is going is fighting the SJWs who are trying to force the developers to cater to them instead of the gamers
@justinooncx
We've already got some ethical alternatives for game journalism:
The Escapist for the reformed old guard.
TechRaptor.
Niche Gamer.
APG Nation.
GamesNosh for the new blood.
Even Christ Centered Gamer for how to do bias right (one score for the game, one score for "morality", never shall the two meet).
@Hrom
I don't doubt that gamers will keep continuing to buy games and support who they think deserves it. But as you can see right now, the SJWs have a grip on mainstream media that makes developers afraid to go against the narrative. The public is the one that buys games, in the end, not the SJWs, but the game journalists can very well dictate what games should and shouldn't be bought. If I were a lady buying a game for my son, where would I go to find information on which game to buy? Granted, this problem is probably more prevalent in the indie scene rather than the AAA. Maybe even the mobile scene, although I'm not sure on that.
@A Real Libertarian
I also don't deny that we already have places doing honest game reviews. The problem lies in how visible they are, and how they're recognized by the general public. Type in 'games news' in Google, and you'll find NONE of the above on the front page. Hell, Kotaku and Polygon are sitting there! As an uneducated consumer, I would most probably gravitate to those sites first.
From here, there are a few options. Tear the corrupt sites to the ground. Reform the corrupt sites so they become ethical and unbiased. Create a new site that would compete with the corrupt sites. Might be more, but none come to mind right now.
Edit: Forgot supporting the good sites until they overtake the bad ones. Damnit, that's rather fundamental.
^ The mainstream media was against gaming ever since videogames came to be as a medium
If people listened to the media, gaming would have ceased to exist way back in the 80s
Gamers know not to listen to the mainstream media, and thanks to GG, the game developers are gradually beginning to realize this as well
As for the game journalists, thanks to GG, and partially due to their own stupidity, they are loosing support not only from gamers, but also from sponsors
Many have already lost millions of dollars, and if stuff keeps going on as it's been till now, will eventually go bankrupt
Then, in my opinion, it should be a priority for GG to makes sure these people will never get another job again in their life
Nowadays, it is high-profile lets-players, actual gamers, that do the lion's share in promoting videogames.
Slender and Five Nights at Freddy's did not become hits due to the media, but because freaking PewdiePie and Markiplier played them, and uploaded the footage on youtube
@justinooncx
Those who will reform have already reformed (The Escapist, Gameranx, etc. etc.), those that will not reform are being burnt (Gawker, Polygon, etc. etc.), now what you have to do with the new blood & the reformed old guard is shill them whenever you can.
Someone wants to know about games, send them to the sites.
You can also give money to them so they can fund more upgrades for the site.

So this weekend i was out to a familiar's house. They had yesterday's newspaper (Clarin). In the "Social" section, they had an article about a so-called MediaParty a Hacks/Hackers Buenos Aires (HHBA). Why i'm bringing such a topic? Well, skimming through the text i saw mention of various outlets, one of them Vox Media (others include Los Angeles Times, ProPublica, SourceFabric, Senzari, The Guardian, The New York Times, Knight-Mozilla Open News). Page with names here https://archive.is/efPte (page from August 24th). Online version the newspaper here: https://archive.is/JD2AI (page from August 29th) (i recommend to use the archive, my ghostery extension went crazy after turning it off, KYM is comparatively more simple). I linked to a page in spanish, some points i take:
>need to adapt to new consumer habits, giving attention to audiences and changing work culture regarding writing (2nd paragraph)
>"We are trying to decode what means to tell good stories on the Internet, how to present them. We are flooded with information, but we publish only what matters to people, we want them to understand the events"-Melissa Bell, Vox Media CEO (3rd paragraph)
>Readers are not just readers. They give opinion, give info, create communities. They are audience. Jennifer Brandel shares tools. (4th paragraph)
>Data journalism: with digital tools, we have new ways to tell stories. Searching for emotional response. Julia Smith (Knight-Mozilla) and Juan Elosuรก (La Naciรณn Data) give example of using graphs showing deaths (numbers, not actual photos) and sound.(5th paragraph)
English page of the event with guest speakers
Why hello there lil gal. A photo in english about comments and questions. Destroy egos. (3rd page in a powerpoint, don't know the context of the previous pages). I guess I'd find more in twitter by searching conbinatons of #MediaParty #hhba @voxdotcom @MelissaBell but it's 10 PM and i'd like to sleep.
I didn't see any of this when lurking on KiA, or GGHQ (i don't look at the latter one that often, i'll admit), so maybe we're missing something, I'm posting here just in case.

Iโฆ I dont even know what to say about this. Just look.
Y'know, aGGros keep saying that GG is right-wing or reactionary.
I respectfully disagree. GG has made me feel more left-wing and feminist than ever before.
Why? Because SJWs and pseudo-feminists like Sarkeesian don't want to empower women, minorities, LGBT folks, or the poor. They want to fill them with fear, take away their autonomy, and use them as a status symbol.
GamerGate and #NotYourShield enlightened me on that.

Apparently being trans means you're incapable of being an awful person despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary. Seriously though if it turned out that Oliver Campbell had sex with kids I would gladly cut him out of my social media and denounce him publicly, just because I agree with someone ideologically does not mean I will defend them blindly against legit criticism.
