About
SephirothSword57, also known as Seph-sama, is a satirical character portrayed by a YouTuber and TikToker of the same name who is a stereotypical weeaboo who constantly inserts Japanese and Japanese-sounding words into his speech, wears a fedora and worships all things Japanese while bashing on Nintendo and "ignorant hateful Westerners." The character presents himself as a Japanese expert and spiritual educator and achieved virality online in the summer of 2024 as several of his videos went viral on TikTok and X / Twitter.
Online History
SephirothSword57 is a satirical character created by a YouTuber of the same name.[1][2] The character is the main protagonist of The SephirothSword57 show, a review series on SephirothSword57's YouTube channel, and is an exaggerated and satirical version of the YouTuber. Described as "spirited and wise," the character is a stereotypical weaboo who is very fond of all things Japanese.
On January 27th, 2023, the first video featuring the character, "Chrono Trigger – Sephirothsword57 Review" premiered on YouTube,[3] gaining over 3,600 views in two years (shown below, left; another episode shown below, right).
On December 16th, 2023, SephirothSword57 became active on TikTok,[4] where he uploaded his "Japanese Word of the Week" comedy series. The first episode within the series (shown below) gained over 1.2 million views and 146,000 likes in eight months (shown below).

Spread
In 2024, multiple videos and posts by SephirothSword57 went viral on TikTok and X. For example, on June 2nd, 2024, @SephirothSword_ posted a satirical video about the rarely used Japanese prefix that gained over 5,800 reposts and 40,000 likes on X[5] in two months (shown below).
