Henya the Genius is a VTuber and a member of the VShojo VTuber agency. She streams regularly on Twitch in both English and Japanese.

History

Henya was revealed by VShojo on May 10th, 2023,^[1] with the posting of her lore video (shown below, left). On May 13th, 2023, she made her first streaming appearance on Twitch, which was reposted to her YouTube channel on May 14th, 2023 (shown below, right). Due to the timing of her debut, as well as many of her vocal characteristics, verbal tics, and her laugh, it's believed that the talent behind the Henya persona is the one who used to be known as Pikamee, a VOMS-affiliated VTuber who had "graduated" on March 31st.

Over the following three months, Henya gained over 159,000 subscribers on YouTube^[2] and 221,000 subscribers on Twitch.^[3] To date, her most popular YouTube video other than her debut was posted on August 1st, 2023, gaining over 181,000 views in three weeks (shown below).

Online Presence

Henya has developed a passionate fan community online outside of her subscriber counts. The /r/HenyaTheGenius^[6] subreddit has gained over 1,000 subscribers in three months, since its creation on May 12th, 2023. She has also inspired copious amounts of fan art. For example, on May 14th, 2023, Twitter user Sobbi11^[4] posted art of Henya that gained over 1,600 retweets and 10,000 likes in three months (shown below, left). On May 16th, user @sen_kent^[5] posted artwork of Henya that gained over 430 retweets and 3,900 likes in the same time frame (shown below, right).
