Dr DisRespect is the Twitch handle of Guy Beahm,[1] who is known for his streams of H1Z1 and Playerunknown's Battlegrounds. He is known for his over-the-top arrogant and competitive character, as well as his high production quality of streaming. He has been honored with the "Streamer of the Year" award twice.

Guy Beahm first created his Dr DisRespect persona in early 2010. The Twitch channel of Guy Beahm, Dr DisRespectLIVE, was created on March 21st, 2016. His popularity mostly through him playing the 'Battle Royale' games H1Z1 and Playerunknown's Battlegrounds. He became widely known for his personality during gameplay – being deliberately arrogant and cocky, calling himself "an award-winning international champion in the online gaming community." He refers to his subscribers as members of 'The Slick Daddy Club.' As of November 2017, the channel has over 1.2 million followers.

On March 2nd, 2017, he posted a satirical retrowave song called "Gillette (The Best A Man Can Get)" that gained over 434,000 plays and 8,700 likes (shown below).


House Shooting

On September 11th, 2018, during a Dr DisRespect broadcast, Guy Beahm left the stream and walked off camera, returning moments later, Beahm appeared out of character, removing his wig and sunglasses, and telling viewers that he would be ending that day's stream because someone had "shot" at his house.[15] A clip of the moment (shown below) has been viewed more than 2.3 million times.

This was the second shooting on Beahm's home, according to the streamer. Following the shooting, he said, "I gotta end the broadcast right now. Somebody shot at our house and broke the fucking upstairs window. This is the second shot. Someone shot yesterday. Someone shot yesterday at our fucking house, and someone shot again right now."

No further information has been released as of September 12th. However, a message was posted on the DrDisrespectLIVE page. It read, "Doc and Family Are Safe. Proper Measures are being taken while stream is down for the day. 09/11/2018."

Guy Beahm was a former multiplayer level designer for Call of Duty.[8] Despite his brash online personality, Guy Beahm has a reputation for being an extremely friendly and approachable person face to face. On July 16th, 2017, a clip of him talking to a fan who said he was contemplating killing himself was posted to YouTube, gaining over 486,000 views. The clip was later posted to /r/videos on November 1st, 2017, where it gained over 42,000 upvotes.[10]

He claims he "really has a 38-inch vertical, and can do 360-degree dunks," facts he also weaves into his online persona.[9] On November 11th, 2017, he was profiled by ESPN.

Infidelity Confession

On the 15th December 2017, Beahm streamed a short two-minute segment in which he admitted to being 'unfaithful' to his wife, and declared that he was "going to take time off to focus on my family.” The clip was uploaded to r/LivestreamFails where it received over 31k upvotes and over 9000 comments in 24 hours.[13]


Return to Twitch

On February 4th, 2018, Dr. Disrespect tweeted a video promoting his return to Twitch on February 5th at 11 a.m. PST (shown below). Within 24 hours, the video accumulated upwards of 15,000 likes and 3,000 retweets.


On February 5th, 2018, Dr. DisRespect posted a tweet announcing that his stream had gone live, followed by a message several minutes later that he "Broke @Twitch" (shown below).[14]

Twitch Suspension

On June 12th, 2019, Beahm was suspended from Twitch for streaming from inside the men's bathroom at the Los Angeles Convention Center while attending the 2019 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). Shortly after, eSports journalist Rod Breslau tweeted about the Twitch suspension, along with a screencap of Beahm standing at a urinal on stream (shown below).


That evening, Kotaku[16] published an article about the controversy, reporting that an ESA rep revealed that Beahm's E3 badge had been revoked.

Dr DisRespect's 2020 Twitch Ban

Dr DisRespect's 2020 Twitch Ban refers to the streaming site Twitch permanently banning American streamer Dr DisRespect, whose real name is Guy Beahm, from its platform on June 26th, 2020. The reason for the ban has not been made public, and it has become notable for the secrecy surrounding it. Beahm said he also does not know why he was banned.

Dr DisRespect's 2024 Grooming Allegations

On June 21st, 2024, the former Twitch employee Cody Conners, who retired from the company, posted a tweet[17] in which he explicitly stated the reason for Dr Disrespect's removal from the platform. According to the post, Doc had been using a now-defunct Twitch feature named Twitch Whispers to arrange a meet-up between himself and an underage female at a next Twitch Con. Conners also alleged that Dr DisRespect exchanged explicit messages with the underage girl, and that Twitch employees saw the interactions in "plain text" (shown below).

On June 22nd, Dr DisRespect[18] responded to the allegations in a series of tweets where he denied any wrongdoing or engaging in anything "illegal," adding that his contract was paid out in full.
