If You Would Please Consult the Graphs refers to a series of memes based on an exploitable image of Chudjak directing the viewer to consult the graphs behind his back while he stares into the camera and sits at a computer. Originally a version of The West Has Fallen meme, the image spawned multiple humorous versions starting in 2023.
Origin
On April 4th, 2023, iFunny[1] user Numernorean posted an image of a Chudjak sitting at a computer, a version of the You Don't Understand I'm Only 29 meme, with two graphs referencing the West Has Fallen meme placed behind the character (authorship unconfirmed). In the meme, Chudjak asks the viewer to consult the graphs behind his back. The post (shown below) gained over 280 smiles on the platform in one year.
Spread
The image saw viral spread through reposts on 4chan,[2] Reddit, iFunny and other sites in the following year. For example, on April 14th, 2023, Redditor BlubberyGuy reposted the image in the /r/ihaveihaveihavereddit[3] subreddit, where it received over 2,600 upvotes in one year. On August 16th, iFunny[4] user Chlorinated made a repost that garnered over 3,100 smiles in one year.
On June 13th, 2023, Redditor gburgwardt posted the earliest discovered edit of the image, replacing the graphs. The edit (shown below, left) received over 540 upvotes in the /r/neoliberal[5] subreddit. On February 12th, 2024, X[6] user @TrueSlazac posted a meme based on the caption that gained over 40 reposts and 1,400 likes in six months (shown below, right).
Prior to May 27th, 2024,[7] user @anarchostencilism posted an edit that featured a bar graph about music taste (shown below; original post since removed). The edit achieved viral spread on social media in the following weeks and months. For example, on June 7th, the X[8] account @OrwellNGoode reposted the edit, with the post gaining over 1,500 reposts and 27,000 likes in two months.
More edits of the meme achieved virality online during the summer of 2024. Notably, on June 22nd, 2024, X[9] user @PresidentToguro posted an edit that referenced Limp Bizkit's song "Break Stuff," which received over 3,000 reposts and 30,000 likes in two months (shown below).
