About

How Fast We Go From Nonchalant to Freaky is a catchphrase that's integral to a 2024 TikTok trend in which TikTokers use the "Handsome" Snapchat filter and the Striking Face TikTok Filter to show a transition from being "nonchalant" (akin to the Nonchalant Dreadhead and I Became Very Nonchalant memes) to being "freaky" (akin to the ๐“ฏ๐“ป๐“ฎ๐“ช๐“ด๐”‚ meme). When being "nonchalant," the people in the video do casual and cool movements. When being "freaky," they do comedically sexual movements. The trend started and evolved in August 2024.

Origin

On July 30th, 2024, TikToker[1] @oeeezy posted a video with text reading, "how fast I go from nonchalant to freaky," showing himself eating boneless wings. He's first seen with the "Handsome" Snapchat filter (also used in the One Million Beers trend). Then, he's seen with an ugly filter (also likely from Snapchat). The video amassed over 12 million plays and 2 million likes in a month (shown below).

Also on July 30th, TikToker[2] @mason_c_45 posted an almost identical video with the same text caption but alternatively received 247,400 plays and 39,000 likes over the same timeframe. It's currently unknown which creator shared their video first on the day.

Spread

Going into August 2024, various TikTokers followed the trend and used the same TikTok sound[3] as the abovementioned videos. For instance, on August 2nd, TikToker[4] @trxkj shared an iteration, receiving over 11.5 million plays and 2.2 million likes in four weeks (shown below).
