About

Ehe Te Nandayo is a phrase said by the character Paimon from the chinese ARPG video game Genshin Impact , in which she mocks another character's expression of dismissal to a question. The phrase has been subject of memes, fanart, and remixes.

Origin

The quote is seen in a dialogue during the Act Prologue of Genshin Impact , The specific scene where the dialogue occurs happens around said Act's half, where Paimon makes a question to the character Venti with the intent to scold him for his overly irresponsible personality, only to be answered with a small chuckle. Angered by such response, Paimon proceeds to yell "What do you mean, Hehe?". Due to said interaction's silly nature, as well as how the Japanese dub improved it's comedic delivery in most players' oppinion, It has been subject of memes, fanart, remixes and often simply being quoted as one of the community's inside jokes.

After the quest, the Line Can be found in game in:
Archive → Story Logs → For a Tomorrow Without Tears Prologue: Act II → "State of the Holy Lyre der Himmel" → "Talk to Venti"

NAN DA YO!

NAN DA YO! , sometimes shortened to NAN- is a variation of the Ehe te Nandayo! meme, originated from the fan animations made by YouTube channel Gimnaeng. As a running gag in his animations, Paimon is portrayed as a Horny Police . Despite having the same origins as the original Ehe Te Nandayo?! , NAN DA YO! has gained a completely different meaning, as Gimnaeng's fans started using it as a more threatening take on the Go To Horny Jail meme.
