Dedechi's Glasses Templates refers to a PNG template created by artist Dedechi, known as @dEi_pft on Twitter / X, of a pair of hands holding glasses. The template became popular in early September 2024, with artists adding their drawings and fan art to the template.

Origin

On September 3rd, 2024, Twitter / X^[1]^[2] user @dEi_pft uploaded two PNG images of a pair of glasses, one with two hands holding them, and the other glasses only. The post received more than 18,000 reposts and 50,000 likes, and 14,000 reposts and 32,000 likes in two weeks, respectively (shown below, left and right).

Spread

Starting in early September 2024, the templates grew popular among artists on Twitter / X. For example on September 4th, 2024, Twitter / X^[3] user @mogmog_megmog uploaded fan art of Hololive virtual YouTuber Tokoyami Towa wearing glasses. The post received more than 1,000 reposts and 15,000 likes in two weeks.

On the same day, Twitter / X^[4] user @sechihyeo, the artist who drew the character Seiba Momoi from Blue Archive in Oh My Gotto and Alice Dance memes, uploaded fan art of Tendou Alice wearing glasses and received more than 2,300 reposts and 19,000 likes in two weeks (shown below).

The template was also used with real photos. For example, on September 8th, 2024, Twitter / X^[5] user @ratedforjin uploaded an edited photo of BTS member Kim Seok-jin, also known as Jin, wearing the glasses. The post received more over 3,000 reposts and 17,000 likes in one week (shown below).
