On December 4th, 2023, X^[1] user @dEi_pft uploaded a template image of a coat, red scarf and gloves appearing to touch the viewer's cheeks. The post received more than 24,800 reposts and 90,800 likes in four days (shown below).

Spread

Over the following days, edits of the template featuring various characters started to grow popular on X. For example, on December 7th, 2023, X^[2] user @kihamu_11 uploaded fan art of Nijika Ijichi from Bocchi The Rock!. The post received 435 reposts and more than 3,100 likes in one day (shown below, left). On the same day, X^[3] user @_Kmasaki uploaded fan art of
Hololive talent Ookami Mio. The post received more than 940 reposts and 6,800 likes in one day (shown below, right).

On December 5th, 2023, X^[4] user @macura_Levorge uploaded an edit of Kenshirō from Hokuto no Ken (Eng. Fist of the North Star).
