Hourly reposts. 5 bots, scrapping the same 10 subreddits, to download and repost the same images, every hour, every. fucking. single. day.

Is this site that dead? The only way for it to survive is to SCRAP daily reposts from Reddit, and hope that a droplet of traffic is rerouted to here because you copied everything you could from the same Reddit repost as yesterday?

Check the front page. There will be the same fucking reposts for:
- The same facebook old people. (Twice in THE SAME HOUR)
- The same reddits.
- The same twitter posts.
- The same linkdin posts.

HOW MUCH does the attempt at rerouting Reddit traffic from reposts gives against the cost to run these bots and store the same hourly reposts? Like, god damn.

I am almost trying to find a way to create a HTML filter that automatically hides anything marked as "collection" to have SOME semblance of quality control in this hellhole.
I already blocked all the reddit bots (because the "Display images archived by the Know Your Meme Collector Bot on 'All Images' page." option does FUCKING NOTHING) and sometimes its so bad that the new images page won't load images for more than FIVE PAGES because its ALL REDDIT REPOSTS.

Maybe you guys want to know about this Gecko with a machete named kindness that goes around eating coffee flavored ice cream on a donut cone, while he reads antimemes from facebook old people trying to get jobs on linkedin?? BECAUSE WE POSTED IT LITERALLY 10 TIMES

The people who uploaded actual memes got drowned out by people posting useless shit and treating the site like a Booru. They got fed up and left.

The political downvote spammers, the times when no actual memes trend cause its election season and the shitty ui didnt help either

YEAAAAH…This place practically IS dead. I feel like I caught on to that a bit sooner than quite a few other folks here, especially those who still chose to stubbornly cling to this naive idea that it was somehow this last sacred bastion of ye olden internet before 2024 brought reality crashing through the roof. HARD.
As I said in the past, it's really not that special at all. Basically just another corporate owned clickbaity news-oriented content farm now.
As far the community goes, many KYM users like to smack talk a lot of other places regarding how much worse they've gotten, but the very site they're on has also become kinda toothless over the years. A good chuck of user-generated content and discussion outside of a few topics nowadays tends to get overly safe, predictable, and trite. People here always default back to the exact same thing since it comforts them (i fully admit that i myself can be rather guilty of this at times). We always hear "Wojaks bad", and while they DO get pretty damn annoying, it's rare for alternatives that truly feel fresh and unique to be offered. We're essentially locked in an endless loop of stagnation. Going back to uploads from earlier in the site's history shows me discussion that's often way less one dimensional than what I see now, even with posts I'm nowhere close to liking or agreeing with.

TLDR; this place is fairly bland. i felt this way even before i made my account and the only reason i didn't immediately delete it after initially making it is because i legit don't know where else to go since every site sucks now. i had some fun, but my time so far has been okay-ish overall.
