What meme did you hate the most

Been a while since i made a thread out of this topic. The internet has seen a lot of memes come and go during that time. So if you had to pick an internet meme that you hated, like more than any other one ever made. What would you pick?

For me, it's still kind of a tie between doge and harlem shake. I don't think anything will ever beat the raw cancer those were.

I'm going with Advice Animals, like, I know some people would say I would hate Tide Pods or X-chan, cause I bitch about it often on Discord, but Advice Animals and Your Reaction When image macros are the fundamental basis of Internet Thots and Normies of Facebook, imgur, twitter, 9gag, etc. And I know why it is: it's because it's so damn easy to make them. you can fire off a machine gun of advice animals and the normies will just eat them up. They're like potato chips. You get a whole bag full of them, but there's no soul to them.

Don't know specific one but probably memes where the original joke has been lost, you need to know its origins, and people quote it without context.

Imagine a meme that started from a shitty and confusing attempt at mocking a group of loonies by effectively saying they're right. In the process you spawn the most retarded "save-the-Earth" campaigns. Now imagine a meme that took it even further by trying to justify natural disasters like volcano eruptions on stupid stuff like "the Earth is on their period".

There you have it. 2017's most overrated trash meme that spread because of weebs latching onto another gijinka character. Earth-chan.

Miss Wasabi's Dragged On Too Far is a close second for incorporating every horrid anime trope into one show and people still defend it. Why? Because of them anime tittles and the other side of its fanbase I won't get into. If you're one of those "fans", you know what I'm referring to.

Don't forget Doki Doki Club too.

>complain about the anime NSFW and its fandoms because it's popular
Meanwhile Piccolo's Daily Dose still exists in KYM along with the Cheese Grater, Cockwaffle, etc.
I hate Piccolo's Daily Dose with the repeated old "Thanks doc" the most

Although, i Say this thing before, some of the memes that i don't like are the same that are overexposed all of the internet. For me, the demotivacional posters, advice animals and the rage comics are the biggest offenders, not surprise that they are not well remember now in meme communities. Also some of the dank/ironic memes, things i don't like and shitposting will going in the same fate as the former ones if they have this. And for minor ones:
-dat boi and harambe
- anime was mistake (never find funny)
- Trump memes in general
- jojos memes
-pepe
- political ones

Anyway, the worst is probably Doge. That one wasn't funny at all. lel random doesn't equal funny.

Tide Pods, or really any "challenge" fad that involves people either harming themselves severely or someone ending up dead like what happened with the "no lackin' challenge."

Dat Boi shouldn't have lasted longer than it did.
Ugandan Knuckles is 2018's version of Dat Boi.
The Tide Pod challenge is dumb and so is everyone who attempts it.
"Jet Fuel Can't Melt Steel Beams" reminds me of why I can't stand 9/11 conspiracy theorists.
Trump memes are just piss poor attempts to discredit him for literally anything he does.
The surge of "Things I Don't Like" memes made it really hard for me to like them anymore.
I thought the Harambe memes were just down right disrespectful.

There's probably more to this list, but these are what I can think off so far.

Eh, I'd say it's more of a fandom thing rather than the actual source material. As a horror "game" (I consider VNs not to be legitimate games) it's decent. After learning it was a parody of waifu weebs I could definitely see the jabs the creator was taking and found it amusing.

>Challenges that make me realize natural selection is still very much a thing.
>DDLC's fandom. Game itself is ehhh, for me it's another one of those typical "saccharine scenario gone bad" games, so nothing special about it. The fandom however makes me honestly not want to make an indie game out of fear that it'll create a cancerous fandom that'll sour its reputation, as has happened with Undertale and FNaF.
> EARTH. CHAN. AND EVERY LAST ONE OF THOSE SHITTY PLANET GIJINKAS. Weeaboos were annoying before but recently that meme let their cancer spread worse than ever.
>Harambe was not funny. It'll never be funny.
>Ugandan Knuckles went from "in" to "cancer" quicker than I could possibly predict.
>Trump Memes. Anything that gives that halfwitted moron the attention he whores himself for at that.
>I'll legit take Advice Animals over "Thing I don't like". Advice Animals at least had cute animal thumbnails that offset their cancerous nature.
And one that would get my lynched by some of the oldfags here
>Ironic memeing. There's a difference between satirizing and just making yourself look like a freakin' moron.

Any of those "I remember blowing on these as a kid" or "Things I dont like". Overdone, I've basically seen them at this point.

Actually, a lot of the memes that've came from Reddit, I don;t really like. There's too many of them to count.

Much like everyone here, I hated Harambe. I despise it because the "joke" relied on beating it to death and continue beating the corpse.

I also had an irrational hatred for "Cracking open a cold one with the boys." I can't rationalize or explain why I hate this one so much, I just do.

i can't believe i forgot harambe. At least with harlem shake it only lasted for a month and doge only lasted like what, half a year? Harambe lasted for what seemed like the entire fucking year of 2016.

Harambe essentially became one of the defining characteristics of 2016, something that neither doge nor harlem shake managed to do with their respective years. It wasn't just your run of the mill internet cancer, it was on a whole other level

I agree that my problem more with fandom, who spoiled game for me before I even played. However I don't think that author actually tried hard to make parody. In the end he created thing he made fun of and he attracted exactly same people which he parodied. I think he could be more direct with his intentions and make satire instead of simple parody. Probably he was also afraid to hurt feelings of those he made fun of.

In other words he successfully pandered to both people he made fun of and 200 IQ intellectuals who dislike them and try very hard to find parody.

I wouldn't say it's the worst meme ever, but it was pretty damn bland. Barely anything about it stood out to me and it lasted way longer than I thought it would, so there's that.

Now I don't want repeat what everyone said here about Harambe but for me you were too gentle.

I feel ashamed for contributing to this meme back when it was popular.
The joke itself "Dicks out for____" is absolutely one of the worst that I've ever seen.
It makes no sense,it doesn't have a reason,is just there.

Sure you have Grape Kun where people made lewds of that cardboard anime character but most of the art was wholesome and adorable, a great tribute to that penguin who had a really heartbreaking story, there was a reason on why he was attracted to a piece of cardboard. When people made fun of him it was never too disrespectful. It was genuine fun.

Harambe on the other hand it was just pulling out your penis to mourn a death of an ape or a dead character.
I'm all for dark humor,I find Moonman funny despite being clearly edgy and offensive but at least there was some effort put into it,there was a huge variety of jokes and it never feels stale because it's not overused.

Unlike Harambe who was just shot because he was about to attack a child and that's it..The irony is that no one gave a damn about him until he died and yet they spammed this joke everywhere.
Whenever there was anything related to gorillas or apes in general there were hundreds of comments mentioning Harambe (It was a nightmare for a Donkey Kong fan).

They did all this only because a popular youtuber mentioned it or made a joke about it. All the idiots jumping on the bandwagon "mourning" his death but actually ended up being disrespectul to a poor animal who just got shot because of terrible parenting.

I know it's a long rant, but I really can't stand this act of pure desperation on turning a tragedy into a joke.

Here's a now obscure one. Name Brand vs Great Value. Everything about it is nonsensical.

Ah yes I remember that one; it wasn't too bad. The joke is the Name Brand is better quality while the Great Value is the larger quantity. As a meme it was viable but it failed from lack of interest.

The memes i hate most are
Harambe: Like many said "the dicks out for___" was damn unfunny and annoying in anything related to gorillas doesn't help that nobody care about Harambe only people were jumping on the bandwagon becuase they wanted to fit in.
Cash Me Ousside / How Bow Dah: This bitch gets famous over being a disrespectful cunt meanwhile people with actual talent don't even make it or get any.
The Harlem Shake: i hate this stupid meme back in high school, i was forced to do this by my art teacher if wanted pass art class.
Latin American memes: Most memes are unfunny example Dross memes, that annoying Pacman face, intentional bad grammar, Taringa memes,Marcianito 100% Real, outdated memes and fad memes. That has been the Latin American memeness for more than 4 years.

With all the memes that you said in this post (very recently, surprisingly), this mad me to remember some other annoying ones.
Starter Pack: become annoying with many strawman and idiotic self deprecation
Challenge memes: that even i dont consider them even legit memes
MLG and Shrek: more overexposed than harambe and dat boi to the point that they were more annoying than funny.
PC Master Race: Although this was for mocking PC Elitists, like the weeb thing of filthy frank, This become an idiotic CULT that thinked that PCs were better than consoles to the point of beating the deadhorse of pc vs console war.
Moonman: never find funny in my personal opinion, didnt helped that was spammed by /pol/tards.
Although unknown in the american meme community, the ''pacman'' face, that is very notorious in latin american communities, is very annoying, that many put this in your throat too many times to the point that become cancerous sometimes, that even this become a symbol of tryhard edgy people of facebook or youtube. i think that this one is worst than many of the memes that many say, at least harambe was not annoying on this level.

I'll never be comfortable with memes that thrive on the mindless ridicule of others. I'll never associate with most major fandoms, even if I like the object the fandom is a fan of, as there is no magic to indulging in something that you can't discover for yourself. I get annoyed by mindless catchphrases and quoting if they are used too frequently, but do not mind their occasional use. Also, I do not like illegitimate ironic humor.

All that said. The memes I hate the most is the ones that have no effort or creativity acting as a backbone.

An ounce of passion goes a long way. Even if the creator lacks talent.

Logan Paul's Suicide Video because it's really a sin to make/call it a meme out of it.
Also, heard of What Do You Meme, the card game? How about worse i.e. The Things I Always Dislike Edition.

Guess I'm damn right all along regarding not calling that Logan Paul moment a meme because there's an update regarding it.

“The main idea of my game was to show in a sarcastic way the reason Logan Paul went to the suicide forest. The real reason [was] to get views, [and this] was intended to be sort of a meme game. Never thought it would get this much success. I heard it got 9 in U.S. Google Play rank, but I’m not sure. I didn’t set up ranking tools and app analytics, because never thought it would get this popular.”

if we're talking current i'd have to say ugandan knuckles. that meme fckn died out quicker than it spawned. idc if it's racist even, it's just.. annoying. considering all the kids i work with are quoting it like 24/7

but if we're talking past i'd say poot lovato. you take a bad photo of a celebrity big deal, but nope, you just end up with this forced af meme that repeats itself every time

I can't think of any recent large memes I actively dislike. Taking what are essentially large-scale shitposts seriously is bound to make you upset when you see one (and to be honest, none of the ones I see people complain about are really bad or overdone, especially compared to older memes that refuse to die). Maybe I just have too broad a sense of humor (I also don't usually believe in "forced" memes, since all memes are "forced" to some degree or another by their nature).

That being said, I think we can all agree that some memes are genuinely bad. Mostly it's the ones that should have died three or more years ago – Doge, triggered/assumed gender, what are those, etc. I also would put Minions here, except Minions don't even deserve to be called memes.

Sure, forced memes that had no reason to exist at all like the Doge and "things I don't like" are indeed annoying and are getting old very fast, but there is an old meme that I still despise. Here in KYM is known as "Hey Girls, Did You Know…", a meme from 2012 that shows a girl says that “your boobs go inside your shirt”. The origin itself is stupid enough, but it's spreading was a mix of cancer and cringe.

well like others have said, I think Earth-Chan is a shit tier fad that wasn’t really a meme but instead an excuse for some more egregious anime fans to wax their carrot while also making the same ‘I want to fuck this inanimate object gijinka’ joke. not an ounce of creativity in the design or the jokes I’ve seen, and even the cosplays are just as easy and boring as dying your hair and showing off your bust.

If we're going with situations that spawned a meme, NEDM is way worse than pretty much anything on your guy's lists.

Hating a popular meme but only after it got popular always just struck me as silly. No need to pretend you never liked it.

I just never got mocking spongebob. It's the pinnacle of unoriginality and the entire joke is repeating a sentence in a mocking phrase, something literally done by actual kids.
