Origin
The scene comes from the film The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, which first premiered on November 14th, 2004.[1] In the scene (shown below), SpongeBob and Patrick are placed under a heat lamp in order to be dried out and sold by a diver. SpongeBob starts to regret going after the crown until Patrick points out that they actually did make it to Shell City after all, and notice how close they actually were to King Neptune's crown. SpongeBob then says "We did alright for a couple of goofballs." before Patrick and himself sing "You're a goofy goober!" out loud before completely drying out.
