Spread

As the video spread, users joked about it in numerous ways. Some noted that the cakes were primarily made out of fondant, a generally less-tasty sculpting icing used to pull off the effect. Twitter user @BATHSmusic^[1] tweeted, "You serve me an 80% fondant cake, you're going to hell," gaining over 7,000 retweets and 36,000 likes (shown below, left). User @chiropteracore^[2] tweeted, "i fucking hate fondant. it always for shit like this. it’s fucking disgusting. it’s just edible play dough. i hate fondant with a burning passion. fuck fondant" (shown below, right).

Others joked about the implication of an existential reality where all everyday objects could actually be cake. For example, Twitter user @TheAndrewNadeu^[3] joked, "The year is 2030.
