Jackass is a television series aired on MTV from 2000 to 2002. The show is created by Johnny Knoxville, Spike Jonze, and Jeff Tremaine. The series stars Johnny Knoxville, Bam Margera, and Steve-O.

History

The idea of Jackass began in the Big Brother Skate videos that featured mostly skateboarding, pranks, and stunts. Jeff Tremaine and Johnny Knoxville wanted to create a television show with the same style. Jeff Tremaine originally pitched the idea to HBO but the studio declined it, however Mtv loved it and picked it up instead. Jeff called up his high school friend Spike Jonze to help them with the production.

On November 9th, 2008, Family Guy aired an episode titled "The Man with Two Brians" that features Jackass and became the half segment of the episode. Johnny Knoxville lend his own voice for the episode.

Warning Introduction

Warning Introduction is the opening to the television series. MTV insisted that due to the show's violent stunts, they would incorporate a Warning Intro to the show to prevent viewers from mimicking their stunts. It became popular because it didn't stop people from copying Jackass throughout the years and has become a famous Meme.
