BruceDropEmOff, also known as Bruce Ray, is an American streamer on Kick, YouTube and formerly Twitch who's mostly known for his "Just Chatting" streams. BruceDropEmOff gained a large following in 2022 and 2023, earning a widespread fandom that expressed itself through memes and content about him, surfacing on TikTok, Instagram and Twitter / X, among other websites. BruceDropEmOff rose to prominence alongside other Gen Z streamers like Kai Cenat, Adin Ross and Duke Dennis, among others. In October 2023, viral discourse ensued due to drama between BruceDropEmOff and Kai Cenat, additionally involving rapper Lil Yachty.

Online History

BruceDropEmOff originally started making content on YouTube, uploading his first-ever YouTube[1] video on June 13th, 2016, gaining roughly 22,400 views and 1,100 likes in seven years (shown below, left). On December 11th, 2016, BruceDropEmOff posted a video to YouTube[2] that was an NBA2K "rage" video, which received roughly 117,600 views and 3,700 likes in seven years (shown below, right).

Going into the late 2010s, BruceDropEmOff grew his initial following based on his NBA2K videos and "rage" compilations. BruceDropEmOff started to stream on Twitch as early as August 2017, evident in YouTube[3] uploads during the timeframe that showed streaming moments (shown below).

The first time that BruceDropEmOff's Twitch account was added to the Internet Archive [4] was April 23rd, 2019. In June 2018, BruceDropEmOff started posting to his X[5] account @raycondones. He was posting to his Instagram[6] account @raycondones as early as November 2016.

Twitch Bans / Move To Kick

On January 27th, 2023, BruceDropEmOff's main Twitch account was banned shortly after his alt account was banned.[7] Going active on his main account after his alt account was banned was deemed "evading suspension" by Twitch.[7] BruceDropEmOff posted a tweet[8] about his ban on January 27th, which received roughly 61,800 likes in nine months (shown below).

BruceDropEmOff's Twitch account was later unbanned, however, his account was rebanned two more times in 2023.[9] This resulted in BruceDropEmOff's official move to the competing platform Kick in May 2023.[10]

Kai Cenat Dissing / Drama

On October 11th, 2023, X[11] user @ykkswb posted screenshots of leaked DMs with BruceDropEmOff in which he dissed fellow streamer and former collaborator Kai Cenat by calling Kai Cenat’s short film Global Pursuit "super cringe." [12] The tweet gained over 5.1 million views and 9,600 likes in five days (shown below).

BruceDropEmOff tweeted[13] about the leaks on October 15th, 2023, writing, "I don't care to be liked, we LOVED over here stay blessed ❤️," gaining over 10,700 likes in a day. The statement was a point he reiterated in a video on the topic posted to YouTube[14] on October 15th, 2023, called "The Truth." The video received roughly 169,900 views and 8,300 likes in one day (shown below).

Dance If You're Gay Bruce

Dance If You Gay Bruce is a catchphrase and TikTok sound taken from a Twitch stream in which Kai Cenat is egging on BruceDropEmOff while he's dancing, making fun of him by saying, "Dance if you gay, Bruce." The viral video was reuploaded to TikTok in November 2022, inspiring viral usage by creators who danced to imagined scenarios in which they would qualify as gay or recorded their friends dancing without telling them what song they were dancing to.
