About

Ben Croshaw, known as "Yahtzee" online, is a video game journalist, critic, and author, as well as a comedy writer. He was born in Warwickshire, England, in 1983, and currently lives in Australia, where he contributes to several sources of media, as well as managing The Mana Bar[1] in Brisbane.

Works

Zero Punctuation

Zero Punctuation[2] is Yahtzee's online video game critique series on The Escapist Magazine[3]. A new video is released every Wednesday, in which Yahtzee reviews a game that has recently come out. However, in slow periods of the video game market, he will review older games. He reviews the games in a fast-paced voice with few pauses, which is where the series originally found its name. The series was originally started in 2007 on Youtube with a review of Fable. After two episodes, Yahtzee was contacted by Escapist and given a contract.

Zero Punctuation is best known for its use of minimal imagery. Most characters are portrayed by a white character template with a black outline, edited to fit certain details of the character if necessary. Female characters use the same template with a slightly edited torso outline to imply breasts. Some minor character males are represented by a black imp, and some minor character females by the same imp template with a red hair bow. There is also a portrait by Thomas Ruff[4] used to symbolize indifference or stupidity in certain scenarios.

Fully Ramblomatic

Fully Ramblomatic[5] is Yahtzee's personal website, where he posts news about his ongoings, as well as unscripted podcasts in a show and tell format.

Games and Comics

Throughout his career, Yahtzee has been the author for several small-time video game series[6] and webcomics.[7] His video games consist of "The Arthur Yahtzee Trilogy" (which is where his internet alias is derived from), made while he was in high school, "The Rob Blanc Trilogy", a single game called "Adventures in the Galaxy of Fantabulous Wonderment", "Chzo Mythos", and "The 1213 series." His webcomics consist of titles such as "Chris and Trilby" and "Yahtzee Takes Over the World", his most well known.

Other Works

Yahtzee has written several short stories, as well as a novel by the name of Mogworld[8], with a sequel planned. He also co-hosted a pilot for a TV Series called "Game Damage"[9] with Guy "Yug" Blomberg from Australian Gamer[10].
