About
Jinky Minus is a fake Star Wars character made up by TikToker @jaycote in a skit poking fun at the bizarre names of Star Wars characters, similar to the Glup Shitto meme. In his skit, he depicts "Jinky Minus" as the Bugle Monster from Courage the Cowardly Dog, better known as the creature that tells Courage, "You're not perfect." This led to brainrot videos and memes labeling the Bugle Monster "Jinky Minus" spreading in the autumn of 2024.
Origin
On September 3rd, 2024, TikToker Jaycote[1] posted a skit making fun of obsessive Star Wars fans in which he says a series of names both real and made up from the franchise. In the first line, he mentions "Jinky Minus," a made-up character. When he says the name, the Bugle Monster[2] from Courage the Cowardly Dog appears on the screen. The TikTok gained 367,000 likes in six weeks.

The Bugle Monster is a blue, alien-like creature who briefly appears on screen in the series finale of Courage the Cowardly Dog and only says, "You're not perfect."
Spread
Over the following weeks, jokes referring to the Bugle Monster as the Star Wars character "Jinky Minus" spread on social media. On TikTok, a trend emerged that built off Jaycote's skit, imagining Jinky Minus in hypothetical battles with other fake Star Wars characters.
For example, on October 20th, 2024, TikToker Chorkin07[3] posted such a video, gaining over 70,000 views in three days.

On October 18th, TikToker @milkman7315[4] posted a TikTok pitting "Jinky Minus" against real Star Wars character Ben Quadinaros, gaining over 21,000 views in five days.

The character was also the subject of ironic fancams on TikTok. For instance, on October 13th, TikToker koreikaiedts[5] posted a fancam that gained over 20,000 views in 10 days.
