"Into the Thick of It" is a song from children's television show The Backyardigans. Though initially released in 2004, in the spring of 2021, the sound grew popular on TikTok and reached the Top 50 US Charts on Spotify alongside a renewed interest in Backyardigans music.

On April 7th, 2021, TikTok user @swagsurfff posted a video discussing the high-quality music of The Backyardigans. Her video led to a surge of Backyardigans music growing popular on the platform, particularly "Castaways," "International Super Spy," and "Into the Thick of It." The video gained over 216,000 likes (shown below).

Over the course of May and June 2021, the song grew popular on TikTok, amassing over 163,467 views under the song's tag. Many of the videos involve texting a friend or family member "Into the Thick Of It" and seeing how they respond (example shown below, left). Others attempted to lipsync the lyrics without sound (example shown below, right).^[2] The popularity of the sound on TikTok brought into the top 20 of the US Viral Chart on Spotify.^[3]
