Hello Young Lady is the colloquial name of a notable clip from a YouTube video where someone wearing a costume of Minecraft character Steve gets kicked in the groin area by a girl. Other YouTube users have used the sound from the video to make their own versions.

Origin

On September 4th, 2014, YouTube account Dudesons uploaded a video titled "Minecraft In Real Life" in which two men dressed as Steve Minecraft wander around a city marveling at the "human world." At one point in the video, one addresses a girl with "Hello, young lady," causing her to kick him in the groin area.

Spread

On Nov 4th, 2018, YouTube user Arcanier Arc uploaded the exact clip where the groin area kick occurs.^[1] The video was featured on YouTube's home page in 2021, which made the meme more popular and inspired others to make their own versions. Arcanier Arc's video (shown below) gained over 7 million views.

Popular videos inspired by the original include an animation by YouTuber DJ, which gained over 2.6 million views in eight months (shown below, left). Another posted by YouTuber krumperoni on February 23rd, 2021 gained over 3.5 million views in over a year (shown below, right).
