Damn Daniel, Ar Ar Ar Ar Ar Ar Ar refers to a clip taken from a FlightReacts stream where he says “damn Daniel” and then "ar ar ar ar ar ar ar." The voice clip is used as an exploitable audio meme, most commonly seen utilizing Monkey D. Luffy in his Gomu Gomu no Baka form, and Enel's classic shocked face, beginning in early 2021.
Origin
The original scene came from a reaction video by NotYourAverageFlight which as posted to YouTube on December 3rd, 2019. The video, titled "BARBERS GONE WILD SATISFYING AMAZING HAIRCUTS TRANSFORMATION 2019 COMPILATIONS #6" has Flight reacting to various haircuts at the barber shop. In one of the haircuts he responds with "Damn Daniel" in a coarse tone, followed by "ar ar ar ar ar ar ar," which sounds like a dolphin's squeak. The video (shown below) has received over 250,000 views in over two years.[1]
A clip was made from the stream was posted to YouTube by the channel Trevor on April 6th, 2020.[2] The video, titled "FlightReacts Damn Daniel" (shown below), received over 290,000 views in roughly a year and a half.
Spread
On February 17th, 2021, Chris Kogos posted a YTPMV of the clip to YouTube. Following in the traditional format of YTPMV's, the video took the song "Blinding Lights" by The Weeknd and used Flight's audio in place, similar to Gabe the Dog remixes. The video,[3] titled "Blinding Flights," accumulated over 46,000 views in 10 months (Shown below)
On October 11th, 2021, YouTuber[4] Night Kido posted a video that uses the voice clip along with One Piece characters Monkey D. Luffy and Enel (Eneru), which repeats faster and at a higher pitch each time. The video,[4] titled "damn daniel," received over 670,000 views in one month (reupload shown below, left). Night Kido later posted a higher resolution version of the video[5] on November 9th, 2021, which received over 95,000 views in 10 days (shown below, right). This version also inspired several fan remixes and YTPMVs.
On November 20th, 2021, Lessons in Meme Culture covered the meme in a YouTube video. The video[6], titled "Why Is Luffy And “Damn Daniel, Ar Ar Ar” So Perfect?," earned over 260,000 views in one day.
