Comrade Jeb! is a series of photoshops and video remixes depicting Republican politician Jeb Bush as a communist or anti-fascist revolutionary.
Origin
On November 9th, 2015, The Huffington Post[1] published an interview with Bush, in which he revealed that he would kill baby Adolf Hitler if given the opportunity with an enthusiastic "hell yeah!" (shown below). Many found Bush's enthusiasm surprising given the candidate's mild and conservative behavior throughout the election cycle, heaving been mocked by Donald Trump as having "low energy."

On November 13th, 2016, the Sassy Socialist Memes Facebook page posted an edited clip of the Huffington Post interview, featuring the Soviet Union national anthem (shown below). Within two months, the video gained over 70,000 views and 550 comments.
On November 20th, the Facebook page Jeb Bush 2020[2] was created. It produced and distributed memes which centered around Comrade Jeb! and advocating satirically for his presidential nomination in 2020. On November 24th, Redditor abryant14 submitted a post asking "what's with all the 'Comrade Jeb' memes?" to the /r/socialism subreddit.[4]
On December 10th, the Comrade Steph YouTube channel uploaded a parody video titled "Comrade Jeb," featuring a clip of the Huffington Post interview (shown below). On January 25th, 2017, the newspaper Miami New Times[3] published an article on the Comrade Jeb! memes and humorously interpreted Bush's lack of response to their questioning as tacit confirmation that he really is an an anarcho-communist.
