About
Bunny Pretty, Fox Pretty, Deer Pretty, Cat Pretty refers to an axiom regarding every girl or woman being either bunny pretty, fox pretty, deer pretty or cat pretty based on their face and physical features. In early 2023, many female TikTokers started perpetuating the belief, asking their followers which category they fell under using coinciding emojis. The TikTok trend also used a sound that combined "Did you see the way he looked at me?" and Tyler, the Creator's song "See You Again," similar to the Lalala vs. Okokok trend. Despite its virality on TikTok, the concept was coined on Twitter in March 2023.
Origin
On March 18th, 2023, Twitter[1] user @bamb1ed quote retweeted Twitter[2] user @kirbysfatankles whose tweet, posted on March 15th, 2023, said, "there are three types of pretty girls there’s alien pretty, bug pretty, and fish pretty," and gained roughly 38,900 likes in one month. Twitter[1] user @bamb1ed's QRT offered a counterargument, stating, "wrong! you’re either cat pretty, fox pretty, deer pretty or bunny pretty." The QRT received roughly 4,700 likes in one month (shown below).
Spread
Going into April 2023, Twitter users started to QRT @bamb1ed, providing examples of celebrities and fictional characters that they thought fit each phenotype. For instance, on April 11th, 2023, Twitter[3] user @sunfflouwerry tweeted photos of ex-One Direction members Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson, gaining roughly 2,700 likes in nine days (shown below).
Emergence on TikTok
About a month after Twitter[1] user @bamb1ed's QRT, the concept started to trend on TikTok as female TikTokers reiterated the concept in text overlay, either asking their followers which they were or simply stating that the concept was true to their knowledge. The trend started on April 19th, 2023, when TikToker[4] @bunnieuh uploaded a video that said her boyfriend told her about the concept, gaining roughly 2.5 million plays and 460,700 likes in one day (shown below).
@bunnieuh
Soon after, on April 19th, multiple female TikTokers[5][6] reiterated the concept in their own viral videos, predominantly using a TikTok[7] sound that used, "Did you see the way he looked at me?" and Tyler, the Creator's song "See You Again."
