Minos Prime Speech, known by its opening line Ah… Free at Last… O Gabriel…, refers to the monologue said by the boss enemy Minos Prime before the start of the fight in the 2020 video game ULTRAKILL. The dialogue, in which Minos Prime declares his revenge on Gabriel and promises death to the protagonist V1, became a prevalent copypasta in the ULTRAKILL community in the 2020s and has been used and referenced in various memes.

Origin

In the 2020 retro FPS video game ULTRAKILL, Minos Prime is a hidden boss found in the Prime Sanctum level SOUL SURVIVOR. The fight starts with the player facing Flesh Prison, with Minos Prime emerging from it after the player defeats it. Before the second phase of the fight, Minos Prime proclaims his revenge on the character Gabriel who defeated and imprisoned him, thanks the protagonist V1 for freeing him but adds that for the crimes against humanity, her punishment will be death^[1] (video shown below).

Ahh… Free at last. O, Gabriel. Now dawns thy reckoning, and thy gore shall glisten before the temples of man. Creature of steel… My gratitude upon thee for my freedom, but the crimes thy kind have committed against humanity are NOT forgotten. And thy punishment… is DEATH!

In the following years, the speech achieved virality as a copypasta and source material for memes in the ULTRAKILL community. On September 24th, 2022, Redditor Any-Meat-3135 posted one of the earliest memes using the copypasta, an image of a Roblox model of Minos Prime captioned with it. The post (shown below) received over 80 upvotes in the /r/Ultrakill^[2] subreddit in two years.

On March 31st, 2023, YouTube^[3] user Manter posted a video in which each word said by Minos Prime was matched with a stock image. The video (shown below) accrued over 230,000 views in two years.

On June 6th, 2023, TikTok^[4] user @eeiscool6969 posted a photograph from a biology textbook paired with the monologue. The upload (shown below) received over 89,000 views and 6,900 likes in two years.

The copypasta saw further spread online in 2023 and 2024.
