So I was wondering about opinions in many works, along with objective and subjective aspects that come with it.
It's known that objective is regard as the technical aspects while subjective is usually personal preferences in a work.

Everyone has different opinions but I wonder if some are more valid or "better" than others. People say opinions are equal but I'm unsure of this statement. Is there some objective merit to a work or can works all round be subjective?

This is where I'm wondering about the unpopular opinions, the opinions against the majority. Is the unpopular opinion wrong or just regarded as another outlook.

What if someone who's find a work that's universally praised (such as Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Super Mario World, and A Hat In Time for video games and The Dark Night and The Godfather for movies) and finds it not to their liking or finds it bad instead. And what if someone who's finds a work that's universally panned or divisive to the audience (For video games; Paper Mario Sticker Star, Sonic 06, Pokemon X&Y, Metroid: Other M, Fallout 76 and for movies, Stars Wars: The Last Jedi, The Emoji Movie, Disaster Movie) and enjoys said work and finds it good? Are they wrong for liking or disliking a work that's contrary to public opinion and/or find the work good/bad regardless of what the majority thinks?

I'm curious about this, what does opinions along with objectivity and subjectvity have in place when it comes to determine a work's quality.

When it comes down to it you have to remember that opinion is just that: an opinion.

There's ways to try and justify your opinion, and imo your opinion has less merit if you straight up get things wrong about why x thing is good/bad. Stating things like "God Hand is impossible" or "Megaman requires you to memorize the stages" is just flat out incorrect.

As for the subjective part, there's no reason to try and push someone to like something. I prefer gameplay over story, so it feels like a chore for me to sit through battles in games like Final Fantasy 7 or Spec Ops: The Line. Those games may be well regarded, but that doesn't mean I have to like them.

In general, opinions can definitely be more valid or not valid at all. An opinion on something a person knows nothing about is much less valid if not invalid compared to someone who has taken steps to educate themselves.

But as far as video games go, I think it really depends. The thing with video games is that they can all be categorized. They can be compared to one another, which is probably the heart of the issue. I think there are many aspects of games which are more or less objective, like difficulty.

Ultimately, I think an opinion on liking/disliking something is just as valid, but less so (or at least very open to debate) when discussing objective aspects or making comparisons.

Again, it depends on context.

"Mass Effect 3 easy difficulty is harder than halo 3 legendary mode" would be objectively incorrect because there are ways to measure difficulty between games of the same category. "I think ME3 is harder because I found aim difficult with a 3rd person perspective/I'm not good at using abilities effectively" is perfectly valid because you're speaking from your perspective.
