Oh boi, this guy.

He's been blowing up on Twitter as of late for, to put it simply, not understanding how difficult it is to be a YouTube animator.

There are several tweets (For example, this), but for understanding the problem, at least a third of the replies sent to him were, basically word for word, "It's almost as if animation takes time." Another third focused on his galaxy-sized ego, and the last third… fuck if I know.

Background:

-Destiny is Twitch Streamer who recently debated JonTron on immigration, during which JonTron made a series of foolish sounding statements that came across as racist.

-Sargon commented on this debate, which somehow lead to Destiny being butthurt about being taken out of context and filing multiple copyright strikes against several Sargon videos.

-Sargon posted a response video, asking why Destiny didn't contact him directly as a) they have been in contact in the past and b) he was happy to remove the videos in question, and had even removed two that Destiny had missed.

-This takes us to the above video, which if you don't have two hours to waste I can sum up for you:

a) Destiny attempts to commit mass arson in a field of strawmen
b) Destiny repeatedly attempts to bait Sargon in making racist/extremist statements.
c) Destiny resorts to claiming Sargon isn't debating in good faith, causing Sargon to lose his cool- something which rarely happens.
d) Destiny makes several blanket assumptions with no evidence to support them, then gets butthurt when his demands that Sargon provide evidence for assumptions Sargon isn't making because he (Sargon) admits he doesn't have any evidence to make them go unheeded.
e) Sargon triggers Destiny by claiming his views on immigration will lead to Trump-style nationalists, causing Destiny to totally lose his shit and miss the point.

Destiny comes across as a typical "muh white privilege" 20-something who loves to dabble in class struggle and political philosophy from the comfort of his job as a professional video game player living in Omaha, Nebraska, which ain't exactly Chicago or LA when it comes to poverty and diversity, and who knows what poor people need because he worked as a carpet cleaner once upon a time.

His full name is Steven Bonnell II, by the way.

Holy hell, Destiny is spastic. How bad did Jontron have to be to make Destiny look rational by comparison?

Destiny in his debate with Jontron: A bit emotional and overbearing at times, but otherwise rational.
Destiny in his debate with Sargon: REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

I listened to these debates back-to-back and was completely taken aback by his monumental shift in behavior.

Being passionate, loud, and talking fast doesn't make your argument viable.

I'm not saying that Sargon was perfect in this debate, but he handled Destiny's baiting incredibly well.

Unfortunately, for Destiny, I find nothing likable about this guy; he never admits to a fault and condescends and patronizes those with dissenting opinions. Also his opinions on incest and pedophilia (u w0t m8) and laughing about helping his friend commit suicide make me want to punch him square in the face. He acts like an obnoxious aspie, which I wouldn't be surprised if he was, considering his mannerisms and nonempathetic statements.

(Sorry that I'm getting heated, but I can't stand people like this at all).

Destiny's inability to concede a point is kinda pathetic. Multiple times, Sargon had utterly destroyed his arguments. Instead of saying "I see what you mean, I'll think about that", he'd simply say "let's move on because we'll never agree on this." It's infuriating. If you can't defend your ideas, maybe there's something wrong with them.

Also, his rant about construction workers and YouTube animators was absolutely idiotic. As someone who used to work in construction (actual construction, not cleaning carpets), I can assure you he has no clue about people in these trades. Most construction workers are proud of what they do and find fulfillment in a hard day's work. I'm not surprised a guy that plays video games for living doesn't understand that.

Oh, and if YT animators make $250,000 a year, why have so many stopped animating? You'd think if animating was a gold mine, they'd keep milking it for all its worth. Psychicpebbles Social Blade reports earnings of $2,300-$37,000 a year. He really put his foot in his mouth with that one.

And then of course there's the DMCA's. This guy just won't stop.

So Destiny isn't a good debater as some have claimed post jontron fame. It's just he does well against opponents he can easily fluster with his blitzkrieg style of arguing and going up against folks who are under prepared for a verbal war and slog.

When faced with someone who tons on the internet have claimed to be a terrible debater, who comes prepared with research and sources, isn't going to grt flustered, and treats debate as a verbal war as well, he completely fell apart.

Fighting underskilled or under equipped players with an over leveled and super equipment loaded arsenal, then getting salty when someone with skill bests them.

Wonder if there's a video game term for that kind of guy?
