Should Adobe Flash be killed off?

There has been many issues about Flash recently, mostly about security issues. Most of these can be seen as dangerous to computer users.

Another issue is that Flash is dated technology, as it's prone to crashing and making computers lag badly.

Al-thought, this may kill off any old sites or games that used flash, but the sites themselves may be hacked nowadays, anyways.

I'm kinda sad to see Flash die out (not even lying). As I tend to work on games with Flash. Dunno where to go next. HTML5, maybe?

In my experiences, Flash is pretty stable. I noticed that the majority of times that flash crashes is when its being used a ton which from what i saw was ads. Yes ads can run flash to its limit and its extremely infuriating and causes sites to lag to death. adblock prevents these ads from running entirely at the expense of the site not getting revenue. IMO ads need to learn not to goddamn run flash to the brink of exploding. Another thing, if you run tons of tabs running flash (newgrounds, non youtube video players) then it will start to cause issues, also you need to keep an eye on it as it does tend to go crazy, a simple end of process and restarting helps and closing flash intensive sites when not in use

flash is laggy, crashes often, has many security risks, etc.
Literally the only thing it has going for it is its encryption technology, and only streaming sites like hulu should care about that.

Any site that doesn't need to encrypt their data and use flash are very behind.

It doesn't crash as often as it seems but I've never liked flash outside of being used as an animation tool. Programming for it is confusing, ugly and very slow, especially when you can use other languages for web-based development. It's horrible for accessibility which is a major problem – imagine going to a website and not being able to log in just because asshole had to use Adobe Flash – so that basically makes it the bane of my existence. It also can be used to package malware and it can cause security issues.

In terms of a standard for games and apps and all that I think it should be retired. It can still be used for animation though.
