If he wanted time away, he could have very simply informed the mods on the mod-board and went inactive.
Deactivating your own account is grounds for powers removal last I checked. Though he's lucky that's not being enforced yet.

What's typical for these deserters is they will make a post, or even a thread about how the site. This is what a post of theirs looks like.

They will deactivate their account. They obviously will come back later for drama. Sometimes they will even make an alt straight after and continue to post.

Pretty much the exact same as the previous one, but they admit they can't stand being away from here, and just try to justify the deactivation with 'School/Work.' despite being able to juggle it all before, or just post less and spend a little less time here.
Last but not least the best ones. The people who just leave. No fuss. They might be back, but they will just post and not make a big scene about it. Sometimes they deactivate other will just not login, but they just go.
