In case you guys didn't know, Fillerthefreak deactivated. Of course, who wouldn't after seeing all the replies he got for making a simple riff raff thread.

Sure, we can blame the IRC for forcing an user to deactivate but Riff Raff doesn't fall behind. I knew the forum community, especially the RR regulars, were kinda intolerant but I didn't think you guys were capable of doing something like this.

I hope we can finally enforce some rules in this shithole for once. Because this is not what we wanted.

He makes a shitpost, people shitpost about how shitty his shitpost was…I doubt he took his or the others' post very seriously. Neither do I think the people replying to his post wanted to bully him into leaving.

This might be a shitposting board but that doesn't mean you can keep shitposting forever and expect to make friends from it. Constant slews of bad threads are not enjoyed on any forum, and here is no exception

Besides, the only way to ensure that you're considered funny is to either be a comedic savant or to joke like everyone else. The latter means you can't just be yourself without getting ragged on. and mimicking can be done by monkeys.

See if the IP's match up. You can tell if the two deactivated accounts are from the same person.

I don't care that much, but whatever the case is, it doesn't require a lot of brainpower to figure out or stress over.

Regardless of how subjective 'funny' is. It seems most anyone can easily see that "the same spam over and over again" does not entail "funny".

I'm not asking people to be comedy geniuses (where do you even get that idea?), but avoiding the things that you know wont be found amusing is not asking for much either.

Maybe it's funny to the poster. From what I gathered Riff Raff doesn't have rules saying you had to appeal to everyone. You just shitpost. From lurking Riff Raff was created to be a place to post without the same adherence to rules as other forums. Unfortunately brother just caught grief for doing just that. Because I guess ragging on folks is funny. So by all means. I guess that's just part of the deal.

As for his posts, it never struck me as spam. Given that he wasn't suspended or warned to my knowledge neither did moderation. So you can suspend for breaking a rule or just rag on him for shitposting. Either way it sounds like moderation wasn't really helping him. But if you did then my fault.

True, but I find it debatable if Filler was being original. You can also be funny to anyone without defaulting to randomness

Either way, I guess it sucks when nobody else gets your own style of funny and the crowd wont let you spread your comedy wings. But if you can't deal with criticism, then don't use the board where people are 150% free to express it

You take my words too literally. You are thinking of spam in the technical sense which we suspend or warn for. I meant metaphorically. As in the traditional sense of the term "spamming": The same repeated generic content that people tire of seeing. But not making good threads is nothing mods need to intervene for. That's something that reaps its own consequences

Learning to make threads without getting flak is a skill that forumers needs to grow and learn on their own with experience. I hope Filler learned from his

Sure Riff Raff was meant to be more rude than other boards but when it gets to the point of bullying that's where the line is drawn. I know people joke arouns like "lol cyberbullying what a joke" but it can happen, and I believe this is one of those instances. I agree. Riff Raff is a bit edgier then the other boards, but I seriously think this went too far. Filler's thread was dumb but the amount of hate he got for it was just insane. I am all for not taking Riff Raff seriously, trust me, but holy hell that thread was terrible. Not Riff Raff terrible, no no no no. That thread was legitimate bullying and you all should feel bad for what you did.

I feel like some people will use RR to backpedal so they won't be hold responsibility for their own actions. I'm not saying anyone here did or did not do such things, but I can see it happening.

Yiffer most likely does not really mean what he posted right here, but what if some one does the same thing but really means it and with more malice or something along those lines? I sometimes wonder if some one will actually try to use this board to really harass people off of it or at least until deactivation by using the board rules to their advantage.

Call it silly, but same shit happens on 4chan all the time, and some anons there use it to harass others beyond that site as well, like a sociopath. However I don't think anyone will use this board to try to make others commit suicide, and hope that no one will. (That might sound a tad dramatic or slippery slope with that last sentence, and I hope it stays sounding overly dramatic and slippery slopish then becoming a real thing).

I don't know if this will actually happen. I just hope it won't happen.
