What are your guys' thoughts on this? Do you like the content of the "trending" gallery the way it is, or should uploaders be encouraged to upload solely "memes" instead?

But I am a big fan of having a separate gallery for nsfw
Not really invested in what state the KYM images database is in ever since ponies. It has always been devolving into a booru.
I'll never understand, or ever want to understand the large amount of people who's hustle is to scrub images off of Twitter fan artists.

I'd love for the entire gallery consist of mostly memes, but if someone wants to post Tauren drawings every day we can't really stop them can we.
Every time I enable the NSFW and Subculture filters for trending images, I see almost entirely just memes with a few outliers here and there, and I can prove it beyond any shadow of a doubt.
The trending images' first tab right now with said filters on. Just 2 and a half fanart pieces (I count the horny jail furry rat as half due to being part of a meme) and the rest are all memes and that one gaming GIF below. The next page was almost exactly the same ratio of content. I even realized that having a "Person" filter could filter out even more fanart by filtering out Vtuber fanart, so maybe that could be a good idea in the future.
So no, long story short, I am not bothered by this at all. Anyone can see anything they wish to see here using the filters properly, memes being heavily favored moreso than any other type of content, contrary to what every thread about this topic says. Nobody is forced to watch anything they did not sign up to watch here. The memes are literally one or 2 extra clicks away from view, which is much easier, faster and more realistic than expecting people to upload something else.
90% of trendy is sexualized women and politics.
Sorta concerning that there are almost no upvoted images of women who aren't sexualized.

The sad reality is people will upvote shit if it gets their pee-pee hard. Even body inflation, borderline furry porn, this… thing or underage characters (for fuck sake, the Pokemon fandom on this site is kind of revolting)

For the upvotes. People used to (and probably still do) get real mad when their super upvoted lewds would get removed.

Honestly I don't mind it, it's getting harder and harder to get your work appreciated on the internet these days with the way most social media enforces it's rules. We can debate for ages on whether we should allow NSFW fanart but if it were banned people would absolutely make a stink of it.
And AFAIK, KYM has always had these bouts of "Should we let these things be?" Case and point; the trending gallery when MLP was at peak popularity.
