The Spoony Effect: When Content/Creators Gone Confrontational

I came up with this term to describe one that is skilled, well or even average, but however had an antagonistic/dictatorial presence on the internet. Often cases include wishing a mental/physical harm towards anybody civil and innocent, usually for alleged/blatant acts of bigotry over dissatisfaction of a work that has been initially out regardless. This kind of people is on the other end of the spectrum from people like Chris Chan, where that kind are obviously talent-less AF.

Basically Spoony and Chris both have in common for being mean towards anybody (for the hell of it). Confrontational content creators like Spoony hold the belief that anybody should be deserved of whatever scorn and harm when receiving feedback regardless of how well-or-not it is but at the expense of their productivity of making more content for their audience to enjoy and even potentially void any value of all of the content they made.

This term came from Noah Antwiler, host of the The Spoony Experiment, a content creator who was a member of Channel Awesome and claims to be a terrifying result of a generation raised on MTV and films starring Jean-Claude Van Damme and Steven Seagal. For years, he had been venting on Twitter over setbacks towards his productions' progress and arguing anybody. On YouTube, anytime he uploads the comments section is already disabled. When he gets to streaming his vidya session, he goes full DSP. Just like Jordie "WingsOfRedemption" Jordan, complains that his peak following is hemorrhaging. Back to Twitter, he fails at defending why he had to be like that. And lastly on Patreon, he fails to deliver promises and closely ended up e-begging like Chris during the Financhu Crisis. So, Spoony was a good content creator… what a rotten way he goes.

This decade may end in favor of the two-twenties but I believe we're witnessing a IRL game of battle royale where content creators has to be respectful among the audience and the peers too so as long as resorting to nepotism (White knighting from the closest peers) if failed. Politics (since 2015), prone to being doxxed/stalked, getting unexpected feedback of disregard regardless and vulnerable to insecurity are the enemies to deal with.

And not just the content creators, but also game development staff member and any cast and crew member of Hollywood too. A journalist is not consider to be also a content creator but instead a professional A-Log.

Some of them can be carefully pardoned, others deserved to be in this position.
Agreed at my "thesis" or not? I'll try my best to take yours constructively.

Kiwi Farms is a fine place to start browsing, Any KYM user can too be a member of Kiwi Farms so as long as a different identity. So why not going ahead creating an account or even worse i.e. why bother?

Razorfist full stop. Already had some issues with the dude around the start of the decade but found him interesting enough to check out some of his stuff like his videos on stealth games he likes. At first my only major issue with the dude is he is always super antagonistic towards Hideo Kojima, Metal Gear, and fans of both, often calling Kojima/MG fans pretentious losers which in hindsight is rich coming from a dude who's a real metal hipster who likes to sprinkle random "big words" in his vocabulary like Sheldon from Big Bang Theory in order to try and sound smart. Over time though the dude started to get super political too and I have to admit I find it somewhat ironic a dude who loves metal and punk keeps talking about how his politics are super conservative, bordering on alt right as he hates "old conservatives" like John McCain and even ragged on him after the dude died. Recently it's come to light he's verbally abusive to his girlfriend and has been trying to force her to quit her job because he apparently feels emasculated, not being the main bread winner anymore. Dude also really believes certain dumb conspiracies like "I bet the only reason why Mandalorian and Jedi Fallen Order are good is so Disney can sucker people into seeing Episode IX." Dude that conspiracy doesn't even make much sense.

YandereDev comes to mind, although he is more than just a "content creator" in the traditional Youtber sense (he is "working" on an actual product). But he has established a considerable following and created a community around the game. I use to be supportive of his channel and work during its inception, but then the feature-creep came down big time. The game became outrageously ambitious and beyond his ability, worse was his skewed sense of priorities. Any constructive criticism towards him or his project by fans was either shot down or snobbishly dismissed. He became manipulative and belligerent towards those who worked alongside him or helped with the project. In his defense I feel is that YandereDev garnered a following too large and way too soon, that attention went to his head. There's an entire fandom surrounding a woefully unfinished game led by an egomaniac for the last several years. This is not healthy for anyone or the game in the long term. I have completely lost interest and faith in YandereDev/Sim long ago.

Graham Linehan. Creator of Father Ted, Black Books and The IT Crowd.
Since the end of 2018, he has been into a hot water for having views against Transgender that lead hbomberguy to run a successful Donkey Kong 64 completing fundraiser. Sidenote: Years before that back in 2012, he made a guest voice appearance for Adventure Time and sent his draft of the episode he wrote to the crew members that fell through after it concluded on 2018. My theory (Going full MatPat on that) is they don't want anything to do with him after the Powerpuff Girls Unicorn skirmish and Linehan's views are not up to the hopes and visions of darling named Rebecca Sugar.

Writing this just to not letting this thread shelved. Hope he will go back up after spiraling down.

Arin "Egoraptor" Hanson.
JonTron is completely spared after having been through a lot, his content used to be a mix between AVGN and Spoony. That went well.
But for Egoraptor, he might likely be the Newgrounds equivalent to Spoony or even worse DSP. He used to make animations now he resorts to commissioning other animators/studios to do so with him as a director. He can't be another one that declares that storytimers are the future of animation on YouTube (Subscribe to Pencilmation if you can) after having a feud with Pelo over the parody video regarding it. When he wants to teach, he has Sequelitis but I rather not wait for next installment as his brevity in it is somewhat dubious. Minor note: Being another subject of a Woka-Cola drinker (SJW somehow.)
Oh and lastly, he once had NUMBERS OF PAIRS OF DIRTY, CRAPPED BRIEFS during streaming.

If you disagree, I made this situation blown out of proportion. We'll wait and see either he needs help and he can deal with this and dismantle the unexpected hate and push it to the side or he has to reorganize his life so that he doesn't get this kind of hate anymore. His behavior on Twitter is snowballing down and he needs to be on his way up. I've wrote about him based on what I read on KW, hope it belongs at least.

Dan Harmon
The tenth anniversary of Community has come and he's done goofed… two major times and nuked himself on Twitter. The next five episodes of Rick & Morty should have the name of Justin Roiland only to be appeared.
One goof is when he regret having a misconduct towards a female writer for Community and a low-brow parody of Dexter he made. His presence of Twitter shows this is the closest thing to going full Spoony out of a Television Storytelling Mastermind.
Does rather not approach Story Circle until Dan is given himself a holy cleansing/detoxification.

Just to say Jill Hopkins:
The Sonichu cwcki is also a good place to read on Chris. Filled with more info focused on Chris without sifting through forum post. Good alternative if one has any aversion to Kiwi Farms or just wants info without sifting through any post that range from long drawn out paragraphs to short sentences that don't go over Chris beyond one's opinion.

Also just to say to any KYM member that considers the idea of making a Kiwi Farms account:
Be careful if you try to make an account on there since regardless of how one sees the site, it has enough of a less than flattering reputation among many that you could end up giving others the wrong idea, and I say this as a person that uses the site. Really, it's better to lurk and just read the threads since they should be open to those not registered, such as Spoony's or CWC's (Mileage may vary on these since one could see threads they have as cirlcejerks and whatnot). Also the site was hacked a few months back and some info was leaked about usernames and email addresses. If you really want to sign up on there still, use a throwaway email account.

I can't say much since I lost interest in content creators such as Spoony, and he was already covered in the OP but I may as well throw in this lot if it counts: H3H3.
Now I haven't seen all his videos but I enjoyed some of the videos such as the "gamer compressed air" and the video Ethan did on Toy Channels. Once he started a podcast, he focused more on that than on making the videos that brought him Youtube fame. While I haven't paid much attention to him, I know of him shilling BetterHealth which one could say was H3H3 profiting off of fans with depression, he got into Twitter spats with some user (funnily enough, Ethan and that user have Kiwi Farm threads, make of that what you will), Ethan also interviewed JonTron and tried to bring up the Destiny debate despite Jon being uncomfortable, and lately there is the K-Pop drama (Can't say much on this but if you find Twink to be a slur, that can count).

Links to what I mentioned over H3H3. As I mentioned before, I haven't kept up with Ethan so take what I say with a grain of salt unless you know better than I do because as I said, I am a bit in the dark beyond what some fellows told me.

BetterHelp shitstorm (this also covers a few others besides H3H3. Maybe some of these people could also fit the Spoony Effect for any that have seen their content then and now)

Chris doesn't belong in this thread because he's talentless from the start. However, I've been visiting CWCki thanks to Geno Samuel, so I already know about this website.
One who is curious and types anything on KF is like trying out smoking or consuming drugs. I knew one quits after a week before it spiraled out of control.
Ethan Klein happened to be a YouTuber that approached my dear brother into the animation he made 1-2 years ago.
Who is some user that had a feud with Ethan?
I think Ethan should spend the new decade in his family life (and maybe hire his best friend to look after the channel as long as one not uploads anything).

Randy Pitchford: Founder of Gearbox, A+ in programming experience back in youth but D to F- in internet presence. Made questionable decisions throughout the years while leading Gearbox with Borderlands 3, improvement or disappointment, ruined by being a exclusive from a Chinese-manipulative company, Epic Games, a partially Tencent Company. Okay, This Is Not Epic. This rival launcher would've been better if it wasn't for these problematic decisions.

For whatever reason, poor reading comprehension struck me and I honestly thought for some reason mentioning the Sonichu wiki was a good idea.

As for the person that had a feud with Ethan, it's been a good long while and I don't know if he really did get into a spat with the user but it was enough to at least make some drama that could get H3H3's name slapped on to it. Posting an archived link from Kiwi Farms since it's better than posting a screenshot since one can hold doubts on a screenshot in not being doctored and such.
Medium article, archived. Ctrl+F H3H3. Here's a little blurb below the link
https://archive.li/3kJ5W
"A few months ago, I experienced this first-hand with the fanbase of h3h3 Productions, a YouTube channel with nearly six million subscribers. Though a long-time viewer of their comedy videos, I had grown more and more frustrated with the increasing anti-social justice slant of their content. Given they are one of the largest channels on YouTube, they have a significant material impact on the political views of our youth -- especially given their legitimately good comedic ability."

I may as well leave the H3H3 thread they have on here if they want to look further at all the drama and such Ethan had been in but I'll leave this as a warning: be wary of any post since they can filled with whatever could make one uncomfortable and such, be it racism, use of certain words that are inappropriate, circlejerking and hugboxing, doxxing, etc., etc.

And to say on the comparison of KF to like that of a drug: this may as well extend to the thread I posted. If one isn't deterred by what's on there, still be careful since the site itself is still something of a similar nature to a chan board or the forums of Encyclopedia Dramatica. It might be fun or horrible to read on a thread on H3H3 (and that can extend to others like Spoony or YandereDev) but just remember that even with the fun, you're reading from a one pit from the internet known for 6-7 years of being starting entirely on a terrible webcomic artist.

Also good you brought up Randy Pitchford. Now it could just be me with biases and whatnot but the guy managed to do some things that one can say is problematic or just plain "why the hell would you say/post that?" such, from what I heard, sharing a video of a cat attacked by a crab and telling people on a podcast about a "magic trick" from an adult video, And then there's things like how he was to Claptrap's original voice actor, the money for Alien: Colonial Marines being used for Borderlands 2, and if it also counts: the lawsuit between Gearbox and the guy behind Duke Nukem: Megaton Edition. That one got me not because the game was taken off stores or anything but more on the fact that the guy behind ME was disabled and his wife hospitalized for lupus while this happened. I'll admit this was giving into emotion but even with that, it felt like a cheap shot to do a law suit on the guy.

Phil Fish (for beefing with anybody in his vicinity that lead to the cancellation of Fez II). Absolutely the John Kricfalusi (Tried to go after two women) of Indie Gaming. Double mention. Below is the forum post where Phil announces the game that takes five years to finish.

"Disregarding Phil Fish as a terrible person. … The determination to finish what they started is what I love about them except Phil Fish." -Pan-Pizza

It got worse. He had a hard time trying to report anybody that he lost a flash drive… full of porn stash fearing that he would check it up before replying it back.

Flash drive full of porn that he doesn't want people seeing? One can only imagine this would beat Randy Pitchford and his loss of a usb stick at a Medieval Times.
