I imagine there's some limit by number of tags and/or character count, but I haven't seen it listed on the upload page (all it says is "up to 12 recommended") or in any forum post. Normally, when I add several tags (well past 12) to an image I'm posting, what happens is it cuts out the last few (sometimes in the middle of a tag), and I have to edit some of the tags out myself and re-enter some cut ones. I never gave it much thought until I saw this image for "Mr. /co/ 2019" with 206 tags, the most I've ever seen. They're all relevant too as they're either characters or series that appear in the bracket. In my experience, it only takes around 20-30 tags for a cutoff to happen (though it's been years since I've done that many). Was it just a bug, or is/was there a limit around that point? If so, how did this user get around it? (I may be mistaken, but I think I've seen tags disappear from old images after looking back at them as well.)

I have no clue who in their -booru-browsing right mind would even bother to add 20-30+, but Jesus H. Christ may they be blessed by his stigmatated palms. There's absolutely no downside to overtagging an image, it really helps with finding a really specific meme for a really specific discussion or off-hand mentioning. If anything, screw the limit of tags, the minimum amount needs to be higher than 4, even if you can't find all recommended 12.

That many tags is usually unnecessary (and would be overkill if you tried), but for images with a lot going on like the first one I ever posted, there are so many memes, characters, and properties, I felt the need to tag them all.

I can ask the coder if it interest you a ton, shouldn't be much of an issue.

Also, uhhh, when I moved that image to the /co/ gallery a ton of tags seem to have gotten removed… oops. Didn't knew that was a thing.

It's good to know I'm not crazy and there really are bugs with the tags. Here's hoping they can get to the bottom of this (and I can get some satisfactory answers).
