What is the best way to make a cup of tea, in your opinion? It can be as plain or odd as you like, as long as you truly like it.

depends on what kind im making.
If its green tea or black tea I usually add sugar, honey, and lemon.
If its fruit flavored teas (peach is my favorite kind) I only add honey.
Agave is really good for iced tea, its way sweater than sugar and less fattening.
I have one of those teapots with the steeping area in the middle you can put loose leaf teas. Pour in the tea into the middle, pour hot water (water temperature depends on the type of tea being brewed) into the teapot, and let it steep for a couple of minutes before pouring. I've found flavored honeys (honey that bees made from specific plants' nector) adds extra flavor to the tea as well.
Loose leaf tea, usually white or oolong. Served plain because it doesn't need anything if prepared correctly, in my opinion.
The key is temperature and time control. Good tea has this window of time when it is both intense, yet not overly bitter and can be seeped multiple times, so often despite being more expensive it has better value.
Usually I use just western brewing (small amount of tea, brewing time of several minutes) but sometimes when I want to taste a new tea or can be arsed about it in general I prepare it gongfu style (large amount of tea, brewing time of under a minute, 4-6 repeated interval brewing).
