hello, this is my first thread here and this is a curious question that I had for long time

how is called shitposting in other languages; like Russian, tagalong, german, french, etc.

I mean, if people on your language know what a meme is, you can just call anything a "shitpost" anyway.

"Permettez-moi de faire un shitpost vraiment rapide" (thanks google translate)

The problem is that most of the memes and message boards are well… english, so it wouldn't make that much sense to "translate" internet slangs like "shitpost" or "lol" or "kek" in a non-english territory, unless there's a huge popularity with in them.

I mean, if anything helps, some countries have their own type of internet slangs, in Brazil as an example, "zueira" would be the best equivalent for "shitpost", even though that would be like comparing "vehicles" to "cars", "zueira" is basically anything that can be made fun of, that can result into shitposting, but they aren't exactly the same thing.

In Latin America we use the term "repollo" which is based off the word "repost".
Other than that shitposting traslates as shitposting, as it isn't a common used word.

The shitposting phenomena is something that now is defined, but it was prevalent from the starts of the internet. Even in the BBS era, shitposting was a common practice. In other latitudes, like my own, we call shitposting just like that, with no translations at all.

However, the usage of it can change it's meaning to fit local lingo.
It's still in development as the derailing memes keeps transforming.
