To quickly make it clear: this thread is specifically about fandoms you are a part of and what part(s) of it you have some real issues with.

I'll start off with a pretty obvious one: I'm a fan of Super Smash Bros. but I really dislike a good chunk of the competitive Smash community. Be it hardcore Melee fanboys who shit on anyone who happens to prefer other entries in the Smash series, or toxic competitive players who shit on other players for maining a certain character. EVO 2018 kinda helped to only prove my point in varies ways be it certain Melee fanboys who literally boo'd at the announcement of the Smash Ultimate Direct during the Melee tournament (I'm basically turning into Pat from Super Best Friends when it comes to how I feel about the hardcore Melee crowd), or what happened during the Smash 4 finals when the two finalists were boo'd over their choice of character being Bayonetta (I almost don't blame them for wanting to troll the crowd, granted they could have handled it a bit better in the end).

One Piece fans who wank off to Zoro or Enel and claim them to the strongest characters in the series when they're clearly not and constantly spout about how they can one-shot the current villain. They are annoying and make me want to hate the character themselves.

That part of the Steven Universe fandom, you know the one.

Any part of a fandom that embraces and leans into the negative stereotypes of that fandom to the point is makes the bad part of the fandom appear much larger than it actually is and just gives ammo to the haters.

The Star Trek fans who claim whatever new material they don't like "isn't Star Trek." You've a right to an opinion, but it doesn't make what you're watching any less a part of the franchise.

Star Wars-wise, the "remake TLJ" people. Enough said.

TF2: Players who get pissed off if someone who's new or hasn't spent any money so much as crosses their line of sight. Also lime scouts and people who still think binds are funny.

Half-Life: Both the "guys look there are three dirt smudges on this texture HL3 confirmed" crowd and the "you're not allowed to have even the slightest hope we might get something new" crowd.

ROBLOX: … well, what can I say? Ok, yeah, I unironically kinda like ROBLOX, and there are few good people… but man, the community is a fiesta (but to be fair, in ROBLOX, there are fandoms inside of fandoms, so there lots to expect) besides the usual 7 year old person that says dab unironically, there's the Phantom Forces' "LOL CAMPER NOOB, YOU ARE USING OP WEAPON BECAUSE YOU SUCK AND CAN'T GET KILLS WITH A PRO WEAPON XD" (it's way more frequent than you believe), the infamous OD'er, ROBLOX Youtube community in general is trash, Game Creators that just insult other people to feed their ego, the old forums (which itself is like 6 different communites, one being trashier than another) (RIP), Exploiters in general are edgy 13 year old kids that think they are too cool for school for making everyone in the server saying the naughty N word, the common troll (same idea of the exploiters, but they can't say the naughty words), don't really mind the war groups but they can be pretty annoying, etc.

again, it's a platform that has communities on communities, so saying everything (and knowing everything for that matter) is next to impossible.

(don't even get started on the R-34 ROBLOX Twitter community… it's a thing and I hate it)

These are the top 5 types of other people I don't like in Pokémon fandom:

5. People who hate the Pika-clones
4. Sexual fantasizers
3. AmourShippers
2. Genwunners
1. Pokémon gender stereotypers

Splatoon: The people who get really into the splatfest. They're mostly just silly, random subjects, but I've seen people go rabid over their team.
The Office: The people who think that the show quality simply plummeted when Micheal left and refuse to watch anything after. Also, the people who think that it's the greatest show of all time.

Sakurai: "Here's a Smash Bros. title designed specifically to appeal to long-time fans, which required us to painstakingly recreate long-removed characters while adding highly requested newcomers and totally rebalance the gameplay. I hope this will satisfy you."
Entitled Asshole: "Waluigi isn't playable? Get him!"

There was only a couple of people actually giving him death threats and such about that, so in comparison to the Competitive Smash people it's nothing.

Jurassic Park: I honestly feel that some fans are way too harsh on the sequels and seem to ignore that some of the flaws those ones have can be found in the original like deus ex machina dinosaurs, terrible planning, film continuity errors, plot holes and people doing dumb shit.

I especially don't like it when some parrot off what Nostalgia Critic said about the Lost World and don't watch the movie and pay attention to details like the fact that the Ludlow (the bad guy of the movie) was trying to bring dinosaurs back to the mainland (dude didn't even have concerns with bringing compies to the mainland with the herbivores, as in the little dinosaurs that got the company sued because they almost killed a little girl at the start of the movie).

Thinking on it, I have a couple more.

GTA YouTubers. I'll add that I follow and enjoy several YouTubers who play and got their start in GTA (mostly modding), but the flecks of gold are getting fewer and further between.

h3h3. I got a jolly reminder about this one after the stream takedown the other day. I love Ethan and Hila and always will, even through the missteps, but god damn the fanbase is a fucking war zone. The fanbase does nothing but fight and argue and make insane claims, and it always erupts in full force when something like this happens. No, we do not live in communist China because a lazily-coded bot deleted something it shouldn't have.

Warframe: You know THOSE guys who won’t shut up about “The META”? The guys who say if a new weapon doesn’t require the minimum amount of Forma, Mods and Time then it’s a bad weapon? Yeah fuck those guys. One guy managed to make a video about the Dragkoon a Grineer flak cannon and says he thinks it’s a better weapon than Tigris Prime. His comments were filled with META fuckboys claiming that “Oh Dragkoon isn’t a good shotgun!” “You probably used a riven mod for it!” “Why use that when the Tigris Prime is the best shotgun and primary in the game?” Hell when the Tiberon Prime was released people were freaking out about how good the gun was and saying how Tigris P was dethroned. People got on the forums and bitched and complained about how Tigris Prime was still a god tier gun and no other gun can dethrone the “true king of primaries”.

The Warframe community is split between genuinely nice people and developer dick suckers. DE is nice, but they are not free of their own faults, but you mention anything they might've done wrong or suggest something that might make the game more convenient and they all repeat the same things;
'It's a beta'
'It's a free to play game.'
'That'll ruin their profit flow.'

When you want to talk about a franchise you really like there are always those people who reuse the same jokes over and over again even though they should have been dead 4 years ago. Dragonball comes to mind with the TFS memes, it gets so bad that fans pester the actual voice actors to recite lines from TFS every con they are a part of. Also the consistent hate train/bandwagoning that has been established or popularized by e-celebs.

I have already said why the entire MUGEN community is a massive piece of toxic trash. Here is a short recap of what kind of shit that happens here.

People screeching like a frog in private chat for stupid reasons, and most of the time, it's a case of ''Stop liking what I don't like'' ! They also attack others for their taste.

Lots and lots of creator and communities bashing. Yes ! I said communities because the people there are more divided over pointless issues than freaking politics. They hate each other to the point of blacklisting, and yes, prominent members have said ''kill yourself'' to each other.

Some people have said that MUGEN is dieing. When people spent more time attacking creators and commmunities alike then enjoying what MUGEN has to offer, the inevitable will happens. The MUGEN community is so bad, that it is just better to just never actively participate in. If you do, sooner or later, someone will try to piss you off and make you part of the drama. Just ignore the communities, and download whatever you like for the engine. You will thanks me later !

All these complaints, about hating a particular part of your fandom. For the MLP:FIM fandom it is a Tuesday. XD

Summer Camp Island: I'm convinced the Max fans on /co/ actually hate the show and are covertly trying to get the threads deleted or forced onto /trash/ with the shit they post. Also the "Oscar Cream" smut fanfiction writers.

honestly, if they written twi's love interest as more interesting characters. maybe they could be more better but again, "it's going against lauren's vision."

The Overlord fandom

-It's pretty much a "Mines is better than yours"
considering how they see Ainz very OP even though there are other characters in other universes that can literally obliterate Ainz. Emperor, the Primarchs, or any powerful xenos from WH40K can just curbstomp Ainz. There can be other powerful character I don't know can beat him. Fucking Doom Slayer can overpower him with only rage.
-Other is about the "humans are trash", or it's just me from what I saw in the YouTube comments
-And don't even get me started about the LN fandoms, whenever someone's favorite character dies and some get mad they tend to use the "LOL triggered" comment or kind of like that. It's so similar to the RWBY fandom when Pyrrha dies.

Pokemon was already mentioned in this thread, but I feel the need to expand on that. The fandom is practically in a state of civil war. “[X] is the worst gen in the series!” “The series stopped being good after gen [X]!” There’s also the casual/competitive conflict, where people will be angry with others because they aren’t playing the game the “right” way. And yes, this is an issue with both sides of the conflict, not just the competitive side. And of course there’s the “I don’t like this single Pokémon design that is in this game so obviously this means that the series is dying and running out of ideas” crowd that seem to be out to ruin the enjoyment of anyone who is interested in the newer games. TL;DR, a distressingly large portion of the fandom is obnoxiously toxic.

@Sanakan_ht
So much this. The most painful example is Saitama though, he really isn't all that strong when you compare what characters from other franchises are capable of. It gets even more annoying when the fans make up stuff like "His punch is as strong as a big bang" when it has never been stated that he could or that he can one punch anyone in fiction even though several opponents in-universe took multiple punches.

Boku no hero always has some jackass who feels the need to post manga spoilers (or "hints").
I don't know why having awareness of what you're looking at is so hard for some people. Unless there's some currently manga-exclusive scene or character, there's no reason to not mark your spoilers. This especially applies if you're talking about an anime episode. I see this everywhere, no matter the website.

Obviously 40k fan here, i dont think we are a good sounding board.
40k is filled with those types as writers.
Marines for instance can eat brains to gain info, spit acid, survive in the void, are physiologically immortal, can react inhumanly fast, run a mile in 5 seconds and get super armour that gives them more power and they are among the weaker super units.

You forgot how people say red minions are the best and shit on the other types, just cause theyre ranged and can throw fireballs

Some people will say the wii versions and fellowship of evil are as good as the main series

People who are too strict about what kind of wrestling is the best wrestling. You get people who put workrate – how technical or fast someone is in the ring – above everything else, or perhaps someone's ability to talk above everything else, when really there are different wrestlers with different strengths all pooling together to make, ideally, an entertaining show.

I like New Japan but there are some fans who think it's God's gift and can do no wrong and has no flaws; to these people, WWE is also apparently 100% shit 100% of the time.

I think you got the wrong "Overlord".

Anyway, Don't get me started on anime fans, at this point I think that there is no such thing as an "anime fandom" at all, because the tastes of the members are so different and varied that communication is alway filled with all kinds of antagonism and elitism to consider it a homogeneous community. You got the people who utterly detest Shonens and the ones who exclusively live for them, the people who detest all the popular shows just to be cool and unique, the ones who never check anything niche or old, the ones who detest fanservice like it's the second coming of Hitler and the ones who are too shallow to enjoy a show that has no waifus, the ones who stick around the fandom just to keep blabbing "anime nowadays sucks" all the time instead of moving on and others…
