Normie vs 'X'(because you can't label them)

Really is a phenomena to me personally.

It's very debatable:

You have to build your own belief systems, morals, interests, ect…

THEN, is when this spread off of not being normal anymore is e norm ously hate fuled.

This Is evident when you join multiple communities.

They Decide what is normal to them, begins to go against them.

Think about any community, like for a media, that perceives a person the consuming of only certain surface level media. That is 'normie'. Communities within film, television, video games, anime: no real deviation from that. Can also be attributed to society, such as from the likes of /r9k/.

'Normie' is for a person in stagnation, understanding in only the surface level of a community or medium. Possibly also unenthusiastic to seek out challenges or stimulating material experienced by established community members.

Just my take on it, 'normie' can mean a number of things.

Very true indeed. {twirls cane}

The more I think of the concept it almost is close to being a noob or outcast of sorts.

Behavior in online communities vary from server to server, site to site, or whatever media you are into.

One will get hit with a normie label at first but the "normie" could also change the norm.

From what I've seen, "Normie" is based on arbitrary criteria parroted by individual fandoms mostly regarding their own or others.

For example:
Back to the Future's fandom does not consider you a Normie for only watching the first film. To them if you like the first film, you're part of their group.

Star Wars on the contrary is such a picky fucking group. You're Normie if you haven't seen the original trilogy. You're Normie if you liked the prequels. You're Normie if you've never touched any of the extended universe. You're Normie if you like Star Trek for fuck sakes. They have this pride in themselves like it's some fucking secret club.

The Loud House. Holy shit, this is an even worst offender than Star Wars in its bogus labeling. Don't take to heart if you're called a Normie by this group because to them, watching the show isn't enough. You have to be comfortable with those horrid OCs, incest-shipping, drawn porn of any of the characters, fan fictions of incredibly questionable content, etc.

Basically, Normie is not used appropriately for mediums because the fandoms vary on what they consider "scratching the surface". They label you for stupid standards whether you're not even in their group or are.
