Honestly from my experience most girls are into the typical aggressive, somewhat douchey a-hole over nice guys. But to save face I think a lot of them say nice guy cause it seems like thats what society is trying to push nowadays.

What are your thoughts?

The thing about the whole "nice guy" idiom is that if it is the only thing you base your whole personality on, then you are a pretty dull person. Thats not to say its a bad thing, but you need to expand outwards from simply being a "nice guy".

Women want something they can find themselves attracted to. A "nice guy" is literally a dime a dozen. You need to make yourself stand out from the "nice guy" crowd.

A "nice guy" who is a nice guy doesn't need to say anything regarding such. His actions speak for themselves. You need to speak about how you have a well-rounded personality (pet peeves, things that piss you off, etc), interests outside of the narrow topic of conversation you are having, but most importantly straight-forward and honest. Do not beat around the bush.

A lot of people aren't honest about what they want in general so they're stuck in a constant cycle of finding people who they say they want and when they genuinely get to know them realize they're not actually interested in said person so they find someone else. It's not just a nice guys or bad boys things, but as a whole people not being honest about what they want.

To use an example of what I mean this woman I knew was extremely pent up for a long time before breaking up with her boyfriend cause when they first met she said she was looking for romance; the guy was loving, caring and romantic but he had no interest in sex so she wound up in a relationship where they didn't have sex for a entire year.

To use a phrase, "Be careful what you pray to god for cause sometimes he'll give you exactly what you ask for". Just be honest with yourself about what you want and go for it instead of trying to sugarcoat it.

It comes down to individual's preferences. If you're not honest with what you want you'll get someone you don't actually want.
If someone likes nice guys there's nothing wrong with it.
If someone likes douchebags there's nothing wrong with it.
If you like tall guys there's nothing wrong with it.
If you like short guys there's nothing wrong with it.
If you like skinny guys there's nothing wrong with it.
If you like fat guys there's nothing wrong with it.
If you like hot guys there's nothing wrong with it.
If you like ugly guys there's nothing wrong with it.
If you like muscular guys there's nothing wrong with it.
If you like feminine guys there's nothing wrong with it.

The blogpost she makes is also a pretty good read.

Basically, just being nice is not enough to get someone to like you, much less someone you plan to have a romantic relationship with. You have to have something unique about yourself, or else why would you be chosen over the thousands of other males in that city?

you can be nice, but that don’t account for a face that looks like a can of dog food and an uninteresting personality
