What could be used to alter space, so that one could expand the space behind a craft, then shrink the space in front of the craft, so that to an observer, the craft would exceed the speed of light? How would such travel affect the people inside the craft? Since they would not actually be travelling at the speed of light, how would this impact the rate at which time passes within the craft?
