Man, American (as well as Canadian and Australian rules) football should be called football. The sport you guys are talking about should not be.

Here's why.

When you play American football the only time your feet touch the ball (besides fumbles) is when your kicking the ball (punts, kickoffs) and that's only one foot.

While the sport you are talking about Frketson, the ideal way to move the ball is with both feet obviously feetball is a better fit. Or mabye Youfooldon'ttouchtheballwithyourhandsball.

Football in medieval days referred to a wide range of ball games played on foot. The idea that soccer is called football because you can only use your feet is a misconception.

This was prior to the football and soccer games as we know them today. But the earliest versions of any game being called football seem to resemble Rugby.
