In my opinion, Whatport80 seems more… kid friendly, I don't know. It could be better that way.

there are many other chans besides 4chan, so if you don't like that one why not try some of the others? I prefer 7chan tbh

Hosting costs? Wtf? What does ED do with all the ad money? Hookers and blow?

Seriously, every time I open ED (bout, what? Three times a week, maybe) ED automatically opens two other windows full of ads for me. I am then assaulted with ads on OMG EVURY PAEG. And they still dont have enough money to cover hosting costs?

/b/ isn't bad. Cancer is bad. Newfags are bad. /b/ is just a farm for cancer and newfags.

ED's core problem is that it's difficult to get anything but NSFW advertising on NSFW websites, and they don't pay very much.

Hopefully there's something we can do to help out. ED was a big inspiration for creating this site, and contains a lot of information you can't find anywhere else

If they're really in danger of going down, then I'd like to echo Mike Rugnetta's idea that people ought to be archiving ED.

I'd really hate to see ED go down. As Jamie said, it's really hard to find information of that nature anywhere else. It's hard to find companies that will affiliate with NSFW sites of ED's nature.
I hope it's just a way to drive up donations.

I was thinking about it, but even thinking about it now, it just doesnt work.

The real reason I hated ED was the NSFW shock image-esque ads.

ED is important and must be kept alive. It's one of the internet's most important researching hubs, IMO. Without it, I'm sure some of us would have not figured out at least one or two things about several of our meme articles (if any made). What do you guys think should be done to help?

Get it non pornographic advertisers.
