It just sucks. We used to have some good stuff like DBZ and Sailor Moon a lots a years ago, but all we have now is Pókemon and some childish crossover of Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh. How do you guys manage to watch good animé in America like Lucky Star, Azumanga Daioh and such?

@RandomPicAndClipPoster:
Internet. You can watch anything on the internet, and anime is no exception.
If you'd like to watch it on your TV, there are plenty of options to consider. HTPC's are cheaper and more powerful than ever, and with NVidea's Ion chipset, they can play full 1080p video without dropping frames.

@Skankin:
By that logic, what's the point of watching TV? Or video games?
It's merely a form of entertainment; take it for what it's worth.

@ Lanthus

We don't have 18+ anime at all. It would be nice for me if we had some children cartoon channel, that turns into an adult anime channel after the little ones are in their bed, like Adult Swim.

we really don't either, almost any anime we get is destroyed by 4kids and there ridiculous plan

1. take an awesome anime

2. replace theme song with rap

3. find the worst possible voice actors

4. remove as much signs to Japanese culture as possible

5. take off 10+ years of the expected audience

6. ???

7. PROFIT!

I have to disagree with 3, because no voiceactor is better then DAN GREEN!!! XD

Also:

8. Make bad puns.

9. Remove any sign of blood, violence and wepons and replace it with the power of friendship.

There's just one thing I like about 4Kids broadcasting: Secret messages :P

@RandomPicAndClipPoster What are talking about? There is no good anime in America on TV! It's either stupid kids anime or Naruto like stuff. We only see good anime on the internet. Anyway, most of the 300 millon people here don't even know what anime is.

@Skankin:
You can usually either watch the episode online, or just catch on by paying really close attention. If it's a filler, it doesn't much matter one way or the other.
Certain animes coughinuyashacough can be watched as standalone episodes without issue. (Ghost in the Shell works this way as well.) It's still better if you watch all the episodes, regardless of the style they're in.

I hope you didn't watch the 4kids version of one piece… DX

Never watch anime on TV… Dubs are horrible. Always watch online.

If you want a list of good anime I can name some. ;)

Well, for starters (here is a short list):

Death Note
Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Bleach (seasons 1-2 ONLY)
Chobits
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
Code Geass
Fate/Stay Night
CLANNAD
Lucky Star
Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni
Girls Bravo
Love Hina
Azumanga daioh
Hayete no Gotoku
Elfen Lied
School Days
Shakugan no Shana
Project A-Kon
K-ON!
Spice and Wolf
Rozen Maiden
Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei

Recent:
To Aru Majutsu no Index
To Aru Kagaku no Railgun
Bakemonogatari
Seitokai no Ichizon

Thats all I can name for now…

Anybody here ever heard of an anime called Sgt. Keroro? I know it was at first a manga series (I have most of the English translations and a few Japanese ones), but with any good manga, it gets turned into an anime. I've seen a few clips of it, but is it really any good?
