Creating a Meme?

Does anyone else find this a good idea? We write an entry for a non-existent meme, and see if it catches on because of our creation. It would be like ironic and stuff.

I have an idea for meme, but I'll wait to post it until I see what everyone thinks about the concept.

That is forcing a meme, it's not recommended here. If you want to do that, do it on Encyclopedia Dramatica, they really enjoy it. I'm kidding, but please refrain from doing such a thing here.

since this thread is at rock bottom…

stumbled on this preview and i guess i wanted to see how gay it was, but at the very end… vampire vs werewolf fight. I've never been so conflicted. It's like someone ate a good meal of WIN, but it passed through their system and after they were done with it, it was a massive steaming pile of FAIL. But, like corn, a bit of the WIN remained undigested and is still hidden in there amongst all the shit.

James, while the pic was definitely something I've never seen before, it's not something I cared to see either. Come on man. Don't post transgendered porn. Post deleted.

Sorry for messing up the context of your post DJ Intercept. But yeah, it's best that way.

Anyway, to be more "to the point": don't post porn. I know we've been pretty ambiguous about our standards so far, so I'm not about to go throwing around banhammers, but if you post something that seems borderline and it suddenly goes missing, well, c'est la vie.

Sincerity is the best accident.

A majority of memes start out as regular contributions to the internet without intent.

(Example: Internets. George W. is not hip enough to have thought of it as a joke, the first time around. He was just pluralizing a singularity, like 'mices'.)

If you must, then find a discussion forum with a twisted sense of humor and fill up a photobucket account with your attempts. 200MB later, still no meme spread. Usually due to the usage of someone else's meme.

At the core of it all, there needs to be: irony, humor, stupidity, or a combination of all four.

Like the videos here inspired me to seek out www.buffering.com, a site entirely made up of different video player's buffering notices. It's parked by a domain leech, so no meme seed.

If you try, it will fail. If you do not try, it will also fail.
Somewhere in between there is the meme.

Legit memes are created by accident. Strict stipulation of Interwebs memes have already been embedded into the interwebs culture. An attempt to create a meme would invite a cold shoulder to whoever or whatever is trying to be created. It would be the equavalant of trying to start a cult. Basically, people can tell and they would write FAIL all over it. something culturally defended even at a minuscule level cannot be created for the sake of it.
