(pretty sure this is creative) KYM Collecting general: What do you collect?

So KYM, what stuff do you collect. I mostly collect model trains (ho scale is best scale), model planes/airfix (1:72 is best plane scale), and typical matchbox/hot wheels/tomica etc diecast cars. What do you collect?

Picture of my favorite diecast car, a Tomica Japan Nissan Skyline Crossover, Below.

I'm not sure this really counts but I'm slowly building up my climbing rack. It does involve collecting all of the proper equipment in order to be able to climb certain routes. So far, this is what I've collected.

From left to right: My La Sportiva Tarantulace rock climbing shoes, Black Diamond Momentum climbing harness, Black Diamond Half Dome helmet, Metolius chalk bag (with refillable chalk sock inside), and Black Diamond Big ATC-XP belay device with locking carabiner.

Unfortunately, rock climbing is an extremely expensive hobby. I must have spent nearly 400 dollars on just that alone and the climbing I want to do (alpine climbing aka climbing giant rock faces on mountains) requires even more expensive equipment. Perhaps when another thread like this pops up, I'll post an update to my climbing rack.

I started collecting comics about 2 years ago when I went to a comic convention and got a bunch of Moon Knight comics. Right now I have about 64 comics. The rarest one I have is The Adventures of Superman #500 Collecter's Set, unopened.

Books. Comics, children's books, encyclopedias, dictionaries, textbooks, novels, readers' digest compilations, diaries, journals, phonebooks, schoolbooks; if it's got text bound between two covers, you won't catch me throwing it away.

I'll take a photo of a stack (one of many) of my collection when I get home.

Video games (mostly Nintendo-made games and retro games)
Musical instruments
Autobiographies and books written by important people in classical music

Books, comic books & videogames.

Of these three, comics take the lead. I've been collecting them since the mid 90's, I probably have like 4000 of them by now (from Marvel to DC to independent).

Here's a picture that features around 50% of the collection (because bringing them boxes to the floor is really exhausting).

Hentai manga of my favorite characters

When I was younger I collected a lot of those hot wheels tiny cars, but since my family was constantly moving little by little I lost my collection, had to give away what was left of it when I moved to another country, planning on starting to collect manga and dvd's from my favorite series and maybe silly merchandise when I become more economically stable

Outside of video games and video game accessories and memorabilia, I have a large collection of Nightmare Before Christmas merchandise I've been collecting for over 12 years now. I've got posters, plushies, snow globes, jewelery boxes, holiday decorations, action figures, a copy of the movie in every format it's been released on, clothing, soundtracks, and even a small replica of Halloween Town that was a gift for my high school graduation.

My other collection that isn't to the extreme of my Nightmare Before Christmas obsession is Toy Story. I mostly just stick to collecting the toys that have been released and have a majority of the main characters as well as a few side characters.

Smaller collections I have are mostly comics (Too many to list), movies (mostly from directors I like and cult/low-budget movies) action figures (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, select NECA lines, Beast Wars, etc.) and a select few Topps card/sticker series (Wacky Packages, Garbage Pail Kids, Mars Attacks, and Dinosaurs Attack!).

biology/nature lithographs. I'm very slowly amassing a collection of antique originals, but I have tonnnnnssss of prints. The really nice originals are priced just as fine art would be, unfortunately. Your typical antique page-sized print of an average subject is $50-75 alone. I mostly collect sea life and birds but I have some others.

Here's a heart and hammerhead shark by George Shaw as an example.

Autographs from guests at cons. Among them, I have: Masako Nozawa (Goku), Toshio Furukawa (Piccolo), Sonny Strait (Krillin), Yu Asakawa (Sakaki from Azumanga), Mitsuo Iwata (Kaneda from Akira), Phil Lamar, Christine Cabanos (K-On), Stephanie Sheh (K-On), Karen Strassman (K-On), Wendee Lee, Doug Walker (Nostalgia Critic), Rob Paulsen (Animaniacs), Tress MacNeille, Jess Harnell, Maurice LaMarche (The Brain), Mike Reiss, James Rolfe (AVGN), Randy Rogel (Songwriter of "Wakko's World"), Barbara Goodson (Rita Repulsa), Dana Snyder, C. Martin Croker, Grey DeLisle, Troy Baker, Robbie Daymond (Sailor Moon Crystal), Andy Price and Katie Cook (MLP comics), Tracey Yardley (Sonic comics), Spike Spencer, Tiffany Grant, Briana Palencia, Trina Nishimura, Chuggaaconroy, The Super Best Friends, Vic Mignogna, Mark Russell, The Smothers Brothers, Ashley Johnson, Peter S. Beagle, and Neil Adams.

I also bought Chris-Chan's autograph off eBay. He misspelled my name.

Almost forgot. I have a collection of art I get from artist alleys at the cons I go to. The count is currently at 34, 14 of which are pony-related. I keep them in a binder. A pony binder.

Like an indie fuck, I collect vinyl records, along with CDs.

I also have an averagely small video game collection, mostly of DS/3DS games, but I have a few xbox games as well.
