Help with drawing motivation.

As of lately, I haven't been able to get in a drawing mood. I draw, then give up. Or I just sit there, staring at the picture, tearing the fresh piece of paper in half.

I feel like I cannot draw, yet I want to get back up, something's making it VERY hard to get back up. And I need help with that.

If you're wondering, here's some of my art.

(The Line Of Action on Hirntrot (Guy on right) is horrid, but I could of fixed that…)

Either way, I kinda need help. Anyone willing to give some motives to continue?

It's a tricky situation. If you try to force it, it's very likely that your situation is only going to get worse. Way worse.

I haven't felt like drawing lately either (for the past year or so), so I just don't draw. Then if I happen to get a good or fun idea, I draw it with the newfound inspiration, and then go on hiatus again. I can force myself to draw, and usually can get results with dicipline, but forcing can be dangerous.

I simply recommed you to try out something different for a while. Try a different media, or try drawing something you wouldn't otherwise draw. Try listening to music, and draw a possible story, picture, or scenario based on the music, and what it brings to your mind (not necessarily what the song is actually about).

Personally I sometimes just lay in bed and think, since I can think clearly, and more creatively when I'm about to fall asleep. Just write your ideas down as soon as you get them, or they'll be gone by the morning.

It's that, or you can just take an honest break, and come back to drawing when you feel like it.

Find something to obsess over. Nothing makes you want to draw more than a character you love more than people. Fire emblem did it for me, but everyone finds something different. Some choose to roll with an OC. Consider starting an art blog, positive feedback always helps with motivation. If you're scared of showing your art to the internet you could just keep your own thread here, since only a handful of us actually use this end of the forums. Above all it helps to talk to people: find others that share your interests, or seek out others to draw with. If you really want to draw, you'll find yourself doing it eventually.

And don't go near DeviantArt. EVER.

May do (I already tend to draw my characters a lot, so I really like to get into working) As for blogs, what are some decent websites? (I'm thinking of Blogspot, since I don't really like Tumblr, due to it's userbase)

As for showing other people, I don't really mind, as my drawings could be worse, like artwork most youngsters post on the net.

And for DeviantArt, used to go there. But I'm thinking of removing my account, since some of the art there is rather… creepy to say.

Deviantart is not bad, if you can get past the autists and attention whores, and they're not the creepiest art I've seen. If you want creepy, go to FA or something. Tumblr is not bad either, just don't poke the SJW/feminist nest and you'll be fine.

These two sites are the biggest place for art, and Pixiv too if you're a weeb who draws chinese cartoons.

If you're a professional, then ConceptArt.org is a good place for you.
