Well, "New Gods" (albeit in English) is already taken by DC Comics, so you might want to opt for a new name if you ever want to copyright your work, or publish it large-scale.

just looked it up, your right, but it is another language, i think they'll let it slide
I’ve decided that the story won’t revolve around them trying to defeat there foes, it will deal with whether or not the Novi Dei should use their powers for their countries and what they perceive to be right, or should they try and make the world a better place. They’ll be face with moral dilemmas throughout the story, plus I want to show a lot of their personal lives and how they deal with being famous and having powers. The story is meant to be morally gray with neither side technically right or wrong.
About time for me to check back on this. I really like the way this is going. Just asking, are you still accepting powers? Because I thought of another one, I'll just post it and you can decide what you do with it.
The owner of this power has a body made of rock, actually a material that looks like rock but is a lot harder and more durable and also won't shatter. The power itself is turning everything they touch into rock (the "normal" kind) but not all at once, so if they touch an apple, not the whole apple will be rock, instead it will turn the area around the fingers into rock, up to about one centimeter of depth. That means they can't instantly petrify someone or something but they can petrify a part of it and then smash the rock, then petrify the next layer…
Of course being a rock gives the owner of the power immense strength but not speed, they are no faster than a normal human but thousands of times stronger.
Also being able to petrifly anything that touches them makes them basically invincible to melee weapons and projectiles as they will turn into rock, which will shatter on the much harder body.
You said that most of the heroes serve under a gouvernment but I think there should be a hand full of those who do their own thing or try to avoid other humans altogether, they should be called something like "The Abandoned" because either their gouvernment didn't take them into service and instead exiled them… or they just want to be left alone.
I also think that some gouvernments would capture people and kill them on a large scale using a specific method just to find one or two with the gene, which would then turn into superheroes.

Yeah i'll take a superpower, but how did he get these powers. What accident caused his gene to adapt his body to get these powers? Plus what country is he from. But he can't be on the NATO faction. I already have quite a few people in that faction
As for the other idea, I was thinking that those not accepted into the military would not be accepted do to pre-power things, such as deformities, serious injuries, and mental disorders. They would instead be used for things like construction, research, and assisting law enforcement
I also had an idea that certain super powered beings rejected the notion that their powers should be used to fight wars and instead went rogue. The governments of various countries would label them supervillains and would convince the people of this via propaganda. They believe that their powers should be used to help people, but each time they do the people they helped are silenced or they try and make it seem like it was an act of unlawfulness through manipulating the news and other forms of media.
And then you do have the rogues who straight up use their powers to commit crimes. This doesn't help the image of the good rogues.
As for the capture kill thing I might use that but i'm not sure. I mean my american team already has like 12 Novi Dei, and they alone could take on an army that doesn't have Novi Dei. so the government wouldn't have a logical reason to kill off large scores of people. But i could use it in countries that have less ethical laws.
NATO

One team made up of NATO and NATO allies personal.
This Team is led by Elizabeth Hunter

another character i have would be a 14 year old girl from a south american country. she has the ability to control fire, earth, and magma/lava.
She got her powers after she fell into a lava pit on a trip in Hawaii
her powers put here on the level 4 scale seeing as though she can cause volcanic eruptions and massive earthquakes in areas that have little to no tectonic activity. She can even create her own volcanoes.
i would say that she is about 5 feet tall. I wouldn't say she has a slender build but she definitely isn't overweight or anything, i would say about medium. Her original hair color was brown, and she had dark brown eyes, but as a result of her mutation she now has red eyes and as for hair color, i'm not sure, but something that would remind you of lava and fire, ya know? Her hair would go down to her shoulders and would look curly
And she would have light brown skin.
as for her name? i wanna give her a Latino name but im not really familiar with the culture of the south american countries so if someone else could come up with a name for her that would be great
Her name will be Mariana Lopez

How he got the power is a good question, because "squished by a rock" isn't going to cut it. Falling into a volcano is also out of question as that would give him lava powers. An idea I have would be, that he was "killed" by a meteorite made of the material he is made of now (the transformation into the material of the meteor made him survive the impact) which is basically being squished by a rock… but a special one.
Another idea is that he is one of the first people with the gene and his transformation actually happened like 350 years before the time of the main story. He could be the shaman of a jungle tribe and could have a wise man type of personality (Let's just say for simplicity that a traveller tought him english to get the language problem out of the way and enable him to actually communicate with today's humans)
That would mean that he doesn't belong to a faction and could be stumbled upon by another one of the Novi Dei at some point of the story.

i actually do have a guy like that, he is about 5000 years old and got his powers from dying of old age.
The idea is that humans have always had this gene, that is where legends and myths of people doing these insane things come from. In fact in my story the gods from various mythologies around the world did exist at one point in time. They were powerful Novi Dei who used their powers to rule the land.
for some reason i seem to be unable to quote post. When i click the button i get a 404 error message. Does anyone know why?
@Third Creature of Fire

There's a bug with moved topics and post caching. I manually fixed this topic for now and I'll work on a real fix tomorrow.

Okay. Thank you very much this.
Alright so in regards to the factions. I wonder how they were formed and how they are governed. What do you guys think?
The New Soviet Union or The Soviet Republic was formed in 2011 when the Russian government used certain Novi Dei and various methods to infiltrate former soviet countries and destabilize the countries politically and economically. Once this happened the Russian Government offered them aid in return for annexation.
Its government is once again communist but instead of being a dictator ship it is completely ruled by the people with a government of representatives. These representatives and the army are kept in check by the facts super humans. They make sure that the army and government don't go rogue and lead to another oppressive government.
The Islamic Faction is meant to be like the Holy Roman Empire of the middle ages in that the individual countries are still free to make their own laws and do as they please but they are united around Islam. These countries obviously have Islam as their predominate religion. The leader of this empire is a powerful Novi Dei who claims to be a messenger from god. He used this to convince the various Islamic countries to unite. This process began in 2013 and completed in 2016
The government of the faction as a whole is governed by the Quran and things this leader has/will come up with something to suit his needs. Those who question him are accused of heresy.
The fact that I'm the only one who still posts in this means the everyone else has lost interest. So you can go ahead and lock this if you'd like to. I'll just continue it privately.
