There is no criteria for featuring threads. It's not a right or wrong thing.

"I like this thread, thus I feature it." I'm sorry Jack, but that's just bad reasoning. It's also unfair towards other drawing threads, as they have to do without that star just because you personally like this thread better.

Allright, I didn't really give a good reason. The underlying rationale is that this thread, with the stream and such, is also contributing to the KYMRPG, which is a commendably worthwhile endeavor. This is my reason for Featuring.

Since I've been playing a lot of DiRT 2 recently, I request an image of a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X rally car in a race somewhere. It must be a locale featured in DiRT 2, but beyond that, it's up to you where the race is taking place.

I appreciate the thought Jack (I nearly fainted when you did that), but if that is your reasoning; please feature Suiseiseki's thread, as she contributes to the exact same things to the same project you specified in nearly the exact same way.

Why not feature all the drawing threads that have streams, and have owners that are related to KYM RPG?

Yes, this is a nice thread. Yes, this thread has contributed to the community a lot.

But, why this thread above others? What about the other drawing threads? Sui's drawing thread has been going on for much longer than this thread has been going on.

So, why not feature his thread? If we are going to feature a thread for a reason, we should feature EVERY thread that shares the same purpose. I think that seems fair. Refusing to do so would be unfair and show favoritism. Features should not be made on the notion of favoritism. All in all, I see no logical reason that this thread should be featured.

The streams related to the RPG were a temporary thing, and all the results of that were also posted in the RPG thread (even more over there). I see no reason in featuring the same content twice.

(Plus the arguments regarding this being unfair to other artists like Sui who also did notable work for the RPG and Bob's favoritism argument)

If we get to the conclusion that drawing threads that don't die after a week (have to set a standard here) deserve a feature, I would have no issue with featuring this and others. Knowing most drawing or request threads die after a week or two, it wouldn't ask of us to suddenly feature a lot of drawing threads that are long dead (Sui's, Nats' and maybe Ann's would be all atm).

Notable effort and contributions for the community deserves a reward, I fully support that, but don't show favoritism while doing so and have some standards present. If people are ok with that, I wouldn't mind featuring this and Sui's thread, as both have been around for a notable amount of time with plenty of results to warrant it.

But featuring it "Because u liek eet" is bad reasoning.

I'll just repeat what I said. There is absolutely no criteria for featuring threads. Featuring this thread doesn't mean you would have to feature every other drawing thread, since featuring is all about favoritism, so fairness has nothing to do with it. If a mod wants to feature a thread, they really don't need a reason. Just think about it. You can't feature a thread without showing favoritism, unless you feature every thread that is like it, which is stupid imo. I think mods can show discretion, and abstain from featuring every single thread they like. If Jack wants to feature this, he should be able to.

If a mod vote is all a thread needs for a feature, I see no reason why I can't use my veto power in that case. If Jack wants to feature a thread, Bob and mine combined opinion can unfeature it (assuming you're neutral in this situation). One mod may be enough to feature a thread through things like favoritism, no issues there, but you forget there are multiple other mods that can disagree with that first mod, which was the case here at first.

But I featured both Nats' and Sui's already, using logic I gave in my previous post (rewarding effort). So there's no reason to continue this discussion and get this thread even more of topic. If you want to discuss it again though, just contact me sometimes in the IRC.

I for one love the thread, and I was on the boat first day, but the act of featuring something based off favoritism does not seem right, and fair. Even when it is highly liked, and loved by the community? A criteria for featuring should be established, as it would be fair to the rest of the community. The act of a single Mod, and lack of reasoning are not well received as users lose trust in their authoritative figures.

I will stay quiet this time, as I see people debating for the removal of the feature.

I hope you aren't implying that any of our current forum moderators have judgment at that poor of a level. If you know someone deserves it (i.e. unique idea or long-standing thread that has a lot of participation), then featuring their thread would be fair. Like I said, as of now, there is no criteria for featuring threads. But, I think mods can be trusted to only feature threads that deserve it. They were given power for a reason.
