Out of curiosity, how many image mods are there now? (I mean, including those of us with permissions that include image editing.) It seems like there has been a lot of thread talk about inappropriate pics and how to deal with them, but as many people have pointed out, there aren't nearly enough of us to keep up with the volume of MLP pix alone, much less the database as a whole.

And so long as I'm asking, how many video mods are there? I know that's one permission I lack, but there's probably a lot of work to be covered there as well.

Wait, I thought database had everything.

Video mod is a mystery position. I have video mod powers, others (like Brucker) don't. It's very vague which Database Mods have them, you have to ask the staff or the mods in person. But I'm sure he can get them if he asks. I asked Amanda about the video mod function during the upgrades, she said there is simply no clear definition on who gets Video Mod powers, not even for Database Mods. I have made the suggestion multiple times to just make Photo Moderater Media Moderator, giving them both image and video powers, as this removes the problem of who should get video mod powers, plus it gives the Photo Moderators some more responsibility than just moderating images.

See, that's strange, because I got video mod powers in my upgrade. You're right that they should just go an do that.

^ that was an oversight on my behalf. if you have image mod, you should also have video mod.

Photo Moderator just became a very confusing title.

Uh, yeah, agreed. And I still didn't really get an answer. (Although as far as video moderating goes, my home connection is far too crappy for me to be effective in this area anyway.)

Actually, I have another matter I'd like to clear up with the admins, but it's not really part of this topic, so hopefully the answer will be "Yes" and I'll have something pretty cool to share/announce.

Instead of Photo Moderator or Image Moderator, would Media Moderator be a more appropriate title?

edit:

…aaaaand that's why I should read everyone's posts before making my own. Yes, I agree with RM's position; I just assumed that Image modship came with video modship.

RandomMan's pointed this out a few posts up:

And I would have to agree. When I think of the name "Image Mod", I think that their role is strictly pictures and images, not videos. "Media Moderator" gives the idea that they moderate image AND video posts.

Ah, been there. The funny thing about it now is that when I reset my password, I chose one that ended up being unintentionally hilarious because of a later memetic development. Now I will never forget it.

You'd be a mod by now if you were active Kalmo.

See, when you forget the comma, it sounds like "Active Camo".

Don't worry, Kalmo, I've heard you're a pretty cool guy who abandoned KYM for a while, if you didn't do that, I'm sure you'd merit something.

Yes, Kalmo is a pretty cool guy; eh knows memes and doesn't afraid of anything.
